Nissan Kicks SV

Highlights

• 6.5 L/100km combined fuel consumption
• Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert
• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration

Summary

This Nissan Kicks SV presents a balanced choice for GCC commuters, offering higher feature density than the base fleet-spec models while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency. In the local market, the white exterior is a top-tier resale color, effectively reflecting the desert sun to keep cabin temperatures manageable. With its sub-compact footprint, this crossover is specifically designed to excel in the tight parking and heavy stop-start traffic of cities like Dubai and Riyadh. While the mileage reflects active use, the 1.6L powertrain is known for its mechanical simplicity and long-term durability in high-heat environments. For the pragmatic buyer, this regional-spec SV offers the ideal mix of modern cabin technology and low running costs.

This Car vs Other 2018 Kicks

At 154,000 km, this Kicks has covered more ground than the typical regional average of 20,000–25,000 km per year, suggesting frequent highway use between emirates. In the GCC market, high-mileage Nissans are often preferred over lower-mileage imports due to their verified regional cooling systems and parts commonality. The white exterior provides a distinct resale advantage in the UAE, consistently holding higher value than darker shades.

SV vs Lower Trims

The SV trim is a significant upgrade over the basic S model, which is often stripped down for commercial fleet use. Stepping up to the SV adds essential GCC comforts like automatic climate control, remote engine start to pre-cool the cabin, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Crucially, the SV introduces the 7-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display and full smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, features missing on the base grade.

Kicks vs Segment Rivals

The Kicks leads rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Ford EcoSport in terms of pure fuel efficiency, making it one of the most cost-effective crossovers to operate in the region. Its 432-liter boot capacity outperforms several competitors, providing more usable space for grocery runs and weekend trips. While competitors might offer larger engines, the Kicks focuses on a lightweight chassis that feels more agile in urban GCC traffic.

Running Costs & Resale

With a combined fuel consumption of approximately 6.5 L/100km, the Kicks is among the most efficient petrol SUVs available in the UAE. Nissan's authorized service network is one of the most extensive across the GCC, ensuring affordable maintenance and immediate parts availability from Muscat to Kuwait City. The model enjoys a stable depreciation curve, typically retaining around 70-72% of its value after three years, aided by high demand in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 118 hp and 149 Nm of torque, the Kicks is optimized for efficiency and smooth city driving via its Xtronic CVT. It handles the UAE's high-speed multi-lane highways with stable road manners, though its primary strength is its tight 10.4-meter turning circle. While front-wheel drive only, its 178 mm ground clearance is more than adequate for tackling high speed bumps and gravel access roads common in newer residential developments.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for daily practicality, featuring 'Zero Gravity' inspired seating that reduces fatigue during long highway commutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The SV trim's automatic climate control is specifically calibrated for rapid cooling in 45°C+ summer heat. The interior includes padded door armrests and a versatile 60/40 split-folding rear seat configuration, ensuring five passengers can travel in comfort with their gear.

Safety

This SV trim includes Nissan's Intelligent Mobility suite, featuring Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which are essential for navigating fast-moving GCC highway traffic. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive airbag system, Traction Control, and Vehicle Dynamic Control. Additionally, Automatic Emergency Braking and a RearView Monitor come standard, providing an extra layer of protection during city maneuvers.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Kicks SV is the perfect entry point for a young professional or small family seeking a reliable, tech-enabled crossover with the lowest possible fuel bills in the UAE.
