Summary

This 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS represents a rare opportunity to own what was, at its launch, the most powerful street-legal 911 ever produced. With only 6,000 km on the clock, this eight-year-old supercar has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000 km annual average seen in the GCC, preserving its collector-grade status. The Racing Yellow exterior is a vibrant, iconic choice that holds strong visual appeal in the UAE's high-end car scene, often commanding better attention at resale than muted tones. For the serious GCC enthusiast, this car offers a level of raw, rear-wheel-drive drama that modern all-wheel-drive hypercars simply can't replicate. Ownership requires a commitment to specialized maintenance, but the reward is a vehicle that remains the benchmark for Porsche performance.

This Car vs Other 2018 911s

While a typical eight-year-old car in the GCC might have surpassed 160,000 km, this GT2 RS has covered just 6,000 km, making it a standout in the regional used market. This ultra-low mileage reflects a life spent in climate-controlled storage rather than the daily heat of Dubai traffic, ensuring the mechanical components remain in peak condition. The Racing Yellow finish is a classic Porsche 'GT' color that maintains high desirability among local collectors.

GT2 RS vs Lower Trims

Moving up from the 911 Turbo S or GT3 RS, the GT2 RS adds a level of performance hardware that is strictly motorsport-derived, including a titanium exhaust system and a water-injection cooling system for the intake air—crucial for maintaining power in the GCC's extreme summer heat. It standardizes Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and features extensive carbon-fiber bodywork, including the front lid and rear wing, which are optional or unavailable on lower trims. The cabin is stripped of unnecessary weight but retains the PCM infotainment system for essential connectivity.

911 vs Segment Rivals

The GT2 RS is often cross-shopped with the Ferrari 488 Pista and the McLaren 720S, but it leads with its uncompromising rear-engine layout and track-proven durability. Its 750 Nm of torque provides more low-end thrust than many naturally aspirated rivals, making highway overtaking on the E11 effortless. Unlike its mid-engined competitors, the Porsche benefits from a more robust authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Running Costs & Resale

In GCC stop-start city traffic, fuel consumption is high, though it settles significantly on the long highway stretches between emirates. The car requires 98-octane super-unleaded fuel to meet the demands of its high-pressure twin-turbocharged flat-six. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km or once a year, and with Porsche's extensive official presence through Al Nabooda and Ali & Sons, specialized technicians are always available. This model has historically shown exceptional value retention in the GCC, often appreciating due to its limited production run.

Performance & Capability

The GT2 RS is a 700 hp monster that delivers a top speed of 340 km/h, making it one of the fastest cars on any GCC road. Its rear-wheel-drive configuration is managed by a race-tuned 7-speed PDK transmission that has been reinforced to handle the massive 750 Nm torque output. On the well-paved surfaces of the UAE, the car’s rear-axle steering provides incredible agility, while the massive 325-section rear tires ensure maximum traction during high-speed cornering at Yas Marina or Dubai Autodrome.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a two-seat cockpit focused entirely on the driver, featuring carbon-fiber bucket seats that provide excellent lateral support. Despite its track focus, the dual-zone automatic climate control is powerful enough to combat the intense Middle Eastern summer heat effectively. The use of Alcantara on the steering wheel and headliner adds a premium touch, while the cabin insulation is surprisingly good for a car with such aggressive aerodynamics.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with tuned ABS, ESC, and TC specifically for the GT2's high power-to-weight ratio. It features full-size driver and passenger airbags along with the Porsche Side Impact Protection System (POSIP). For long highway drives, the cruise control and powerful LED headlights provide essential safety when navigating between cities at night.

The bottom line

This is a collector-grade example of Porsche’s ultimate 991-generation 911, offering a rare combination of ultra-low mileage and one of the boldest resale colors in the GCC market.
