• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• 80-litre fuel tank

Summary

This 2018 Toyota Hilux DLS is a standout choice in the GCC used market, offering exceptionally low mileage of just 45,000 km, which is less than half of what is typically seen for this model year. Its white exterior is not only the most practical choice for reflecting desert heat but also represents the strongest resale color across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. As a DLS trim with the 2.8L diesel engine, it balances heavy-duty utility with the everyday convenience of an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Known for its indestructible reputation, this Hilux is perfectly suited for anyone needing a reliable workhorse that transitions seamlessly from city job sites to weekend desert excursions.

This Car vs Other 2018 Hiluxs

With only 45,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven roughly 7,500 km per year, significantly lower than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. Most Hiluxs from this era have already crossed the 150,000 km mark, making this a rare opportunity to own a mechanically fresh example. The white paint remains the preferred choice in the region, ensuring the highest possible liquidity and value retention when it comes time to upgrade.

DLS vs Lower Trims

The DLS trim provides significant upgrades over the base Workmate and GL levels, most notably featuring the larger 2.8L turbo-diesel engine rather than the 2.4L or petrol alternatives. This variant adds the convenience of a 6-speed automatic transmission and a more refined cabin with upgraded upholstery and a multi-information display. It also includes standard safety enhancements like Vehicle Stability Control and Hill-start Assist which are often absent on entry-level fleet specifications.

Hilux vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Mitsubishi L200 and Isuzu D-Max, the Hilux leads with a superior authorized service footprint that spans every major city and remote town across the GCC. Its 3.5-tonne towing capacity matches the best in class, while its resale value remains the benchmark for the pickup segment in the UAE. While rivals may offer different cabin layouts, the Hilux's reputation for enduring extreme summer temperatures without mechanical fatigue remains its primary advantage.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 2.8L diesel engine typically averages between 8.0L and 9.5L/100km, providing an impressive highway range of over 800 km from its 80-litre tank. Maintenance is straightforward with 10,000 km service intervals, and parts are readily available at competitive prices throughout the region. Toyota’s historical depreciation in the GCC is among the lowest in the industry, typically losing only 8-10% of its value annually compared to higher rates for European or American competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 2.8L four-cylinder turbo-diesel produces 450 Nm of torque, providing the low-end grunt necessary for heavy towing and navigating soft sand. The All-Wheel Drive system is complemented by a generous ground clearance of 279 mm and a wading depth of 700 mm, making it highly capable for off-road use. Whether you are overtaking on the E11 or hauling cargo through industrial zones, the 6-speed automatic ensures power is delivered smoothly and efficiently.

Comfort & Cabin

The double-cab configuration comfortably seats five adults, with a cabin designed to withstand the rigors of both work and family life. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for the GCC climate, ensuring rapid cooling even when ambient temperatures exceed 45°C. Practical features like a cooled glovebox, multiple cup holders, and durable interior materials make it an ideal companion for long cross-border drives or daily commutes.

Safety

This Hilux comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). Passive safety is handled by multiple airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, while the high-tensile steel ladder frame provides a robust protective shell. These features are particularly vital for maintaining control on high-speed desert highways and during sudden stops in heavy city traffic.

The bottom line

This is a rare low-mileage opportunity for a buyer who demands the legendary reliability of a Toyota diesel pickup without the typical wear and tear of a high-kilometer work vehicle.
