Toyota Land Cruiser VXR GXR

Highlights

• Crawl Control with Multi-Terrain Select
• Extensive GCC authorised service network
• Strong value retention in the GCC used market

Summary

This 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR represents a highly sought-after combination of reliability and premium features in the regional market. With just 50,000 km on the clock, this V6-powered SUV has covered significantly less ground than the typical GCC average for its age, making it a mechanical standout for buyers prioritizing longevity. The VXR trim level ensures you have the peak comfort and off-road technology available for this powertrain, while the Brown exterior offers a sophisticated, professional alternative to the common white or silver palettes found on UAE roads. This model remains the definitive choice for GCC families who require a vehicle that transitions seamlessly from city school runs to cross-border highway trips or desert weekends. Its legendary status ensures that maintenance is straightforward anywhere in the region, providing total peace of mind for its next owner.

This Car vs Other 2018 Land Cruisers

With only 50,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is exceptionally low for a 2018 model, where the GCC average typically reaches 120,000 km or more. This mechanical freshness is a significant advantage for long-term ownership and future resale. The Brown exterior is a distinctive choice that maintains strong appeal in the secondary market, offering a premium feel that stands out from the high volume of white fleet vehicles.

VXR vs Lower Trims

The VXR trim adds critical comfort and capability hardware that the EXR and GXR lack, including a 360-degree camera system and ventilated front seats—essential for the intense GCC summer. It also features a superior infotainment setup and the full suite of off-road assistance, such as Crawl Control, which makes desert driving accessible even for non-experts.

Land Cruiser vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser leads in long-term value retention and the sheer density of the Toyota service network across the wider GCC. While rivals may offer more engine power at a similar price point, the Land Cruiser's 4.0L V6 is widely regarded as one of the most durable engines ever produced, requiring less specialized maintenance over time.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 engine delivers a real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 12.9 to 13.4 L/100km, which is optimized for the long highway stretches between emirates. As a GCC-spec Toyota, it benefits from the highest possible resale value and an authorized service network that spans the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, with parts availability being the best in the segment.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a selectable all-wheel-drive system and a low-range transfer case, this Land Cruiser is a true body-on-frame 4x4 capable of handling the most demanding dunes. The 271 hp V6 provides smooth, linear power delivery that is ideal for navigating stop-start city traffic and maintaining steady speeds on long desert highways. Its 230mm ground clearance ensures it can clear obstacles that would stop most family crossovers.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is configured for eight passengers across three rows, with dedicated rear AC vents to ensure all occupants remain cool in 45°C+ heat. The VXR's premium leather upholstery and ventilated seats provide a luxury experience for the driver, while the cooled center console box is a practical favorite for keeping beverages cold during long cross-country drives.

Safety

This VXR comes standard with a comprehensive safety suite including multiple airbags, ABS with Brake Assist, and stability control tuned for both pavement and sand. The 360-degree camera system is particularly useful for maneuvering this full-size SUV in tight city parking, while the blind-spot monitoring provides added confidence during fast-moving highway travel.

The bottom line

For the GCC buyer who wants a low-mileage, high-trim icon that will hold its value for years to come, this VXR is the most sensible and prestigious opportunity on the market today.
