Summary

This 2019 X5 M50i offers the perfect balance of high-performance V8 power and executive refinement for the GCC market. Finished in Alpine White, the region’s most preferred resale color, this GCC-spec example benefits from the high-output 4.4L twin-turbocharged engine that provides effortless highway overtaking. At 110,000 km, the mileage is well within the typical range for a five-year-old vehicle in the UAE, especially one designed for long-distance travel between emirates. This Exclusive trim bridges the gap between the standard family SUV and the full-fat M model, offering daily drivability without sacrificing prestige. For a buyer seeking a powerful German SUV that remains practical for family duties, this X5 stands as a highly competitive option.

This Car vs Other 2019 X5s

With 110,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at an average annual use of 22,000 km, which is standard for luxury SUVs in the GCC. While many 2019 models on the market are the 6-cylinder xDrive40i, this V8 M50i provides a significantly more muscular driving experience. The Alpine White exterior is a strategic advantage for local buyers, ensuring better thermal management in summer and higher liquidity in the used market.

XDRIVE M50I XLINE EXCLUSIVE vs Lower Trims

The M50i Exclusive trim significantly upgrades the cabin over the xDrive40i, featuring Multi-contour seats and the premium 16-speaker Harman Kardon Surround Sound system as standard. GCC buyers will appreciate the four-zone automatic climate control, allowing rear passengers to manage their own cooling during peak summer months. Additionally, this trim includes the full leather dashboard and upgraded interior materials that define the 'Exclusive' designation.

X5 vs Segment Rivals

The X5 leads rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 and Audi Q7 in chassis dynamics, offering a more driver-centric feel on the highway. Its 83-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for cross-border trips to Oman or Saudi Arabia compared to smaller-capacity competitors. The iDrive system remains the most intuitive interface in its class, performing reliably even in the extreme heat of the region.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.4L V8 typically returns around 12.5 L/100km in mixed GCC driving conditions, requiring 98-octane Super fuel to maintain peak performance. Service intervals are managed by BMW’s Condition Based Service (CBS) system, usually prompting an oil change every 12,000 to 15,000 km at authorized centers like AGMC or Abu Dhabi Motors. As a GCC-spec white V8, this model experiences a predictable depreciation rate of approximately 15% annually, holding value better than non-regional imports.

Performance & Capability

The X5 M50i delivers a verified 0–100 km/h time of 4.7 seconds, making it one of the quickest SUVs in its year group. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system provides exceptional stability during sudden sand-drifts on highways and confident traction on gravel tracks. With 456 hp and 650 Nm of torque, it handles full-passenger loads and high-speed cruising across the Emirates with absolute ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat layout offers 650 litres of boot space, ideal for weekend staycations or airport runs. The cabin is heavily insulated against external heat and road noise, featuring standard four-zone cooling that is essential for the local climate. Premium Vernasca leather upholstery and the panoramic sunroof enhance the sense of space, while the digital cockpit provides clear navigation for navigating complex city interchanges.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with BMW's comprehensive Active Guard suite, featuring Frontal Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Departure Warning to assist in fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The 360-degree camera and Parking Assistant Plus are standard, making the large SUV easy to maneuver in tight underground parking lots. Adaptive LED headlights ensure maximum visibility during night drives on unlit desert roads.

The bottom line

For the executive who demands V8 performance without the harshness of a dedicated track car, this GCC-spec X5 M50i in white represents the safest and most powerful choice in the current used market.
