Summary

This Chevrolet Trax is a practical choice for urban drivers, offering a higher seating position and SUV versatility in a compact, easy-to-park footprint. With 95,162 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 13,500 km per year, which is significantly below the GCC annual average of 20,000 km, suggesting gentle use for its age. The vibrant Red exterior is a standout choice that remains popular in the local pre-owned market. As a GCC-spec model, it features the tropicalized cooling systems essential for maintaining performance during the intense summer months. This LT trim strikes a great balance, providing several key technology and comfort upgrades over the base model for a more refined daily commute.

This Car vs Other 2019 Traxs

At roughly 13,500 km driven per year, this Trax sits well below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual usage seen across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This lower-than-average mileage typically indicates less wear on the suspension and interior, making it a highly competitive option in the 7-year-old category. The Red finish offers a distinct visual appeal compared to the more common white and silver variants while maintaining solid resale interest.

LT vs Lower Trims

Choosing the LT trim adds significant value over the entry-level LS, most notably with the inclusion of cruise control and remote vehicle start—a vital feature in the GCC for cooling the cabin before entry. It also upgrades the exterior with 16-inch alloy wheels and signature LED daytime running lights, while the interior benefits from premium cloth upholstery and a 110-volt power outlet for rear passengers.

Trax vs Segment Rivals

The Trax competes directly with the Nissan Kicks and Ford EcoSport, leading with a comprehensive safety package that includes 10 standard airbags, a higher count than many rivals in this price bracket. Its tight 11.2-meter turning circle makes it easier to navigate cramped parking structures in Dubai or Riyadh than larger crossovers. The cabin layout also emphasizes vertical space, offering generous headroom that makes the interior feel much larger than its compact exterior suggests.

Running Costs & Resale

The 1.5L engine is optimized for efficiency in stop-start city traffic, typically returning between 7.5L and 8.5L/100km depending on air conditioning load. Chevrolet enjoys an extensive authorized service network across all major GCC cities, ensuring parts are readily available and maintenance is straightforward. While compact SUVs face typical depreciation, the Trax holds its value well due to its reputation for mechanical simplicity and the high demand for affordable, GCC-spec family crossovers.

Performance & Capability

This Trax is designed for agility on the highway and ease of use in the city, providing stable handling and predictable power for overtaking. The front-wheel-drive setup is well-suited for the paved roads of the Emirates, offering a smooth ride during long inter-city drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. With a ground clearance of approximately 157 mm, it handles speed bumps and uneven gravel tracks with more confidence than a standard sedan.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Trax offers a surprisingly flexible cargo area with 530 litres of space behind the rear seats, expanding to 1,371 litres when folded flat. The LT trim features the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, fully compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless navigation. For the GCC climate, the air conditioning system is robust, and the deep-tinted rear windows help reduce solar heat gain during peak summer months.

Safety

Safety is a primary strength for this model, which carries a 5-star overall rating from the NHTSA. The vehicle is equipped with a class-leading 10 airbags, providing comprehensive protection for all five occupants. Standard electronic stability control and traction control systems are particularly beneficial for maintaining grip on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces occasionally encountered in the region.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Trax is an ideal match for a young professional or a small family looking for a low-mileage, safety-first SUV that is easy to maintain and perfectly adapted to the local climate.
