Summary

This 2019 Lexus IS300 is an exceptionally well-balanced entry into the luxury sedan segment, offering a more aggressive design than the larger ES while maintaining the brand's legendary reliability. As a Premier trim, it bridges the gap between the base model and the high-end variants, providing the essential tech and comfort features that GCC drivers value for daily commutes. The black exterior is a perennial favorite in the UAE market, ensuring strong resale demand and a timeless aesthetic. With its rear-wheel-drive architecture and a retuned ECU for 2019, this sedan delivers a more responsive driving experience than many front-drive competitors. It remains a top choice for professionals seeking a reliable, stylish, and fuel-efficient executive car that holds its value better than its European rivals.

This Car vs Other 2019 IS300s

With 92,000 km on the odometer, this IS300 has been driven approximately 18,400 km per year, which is comfortably below the typical GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km. In a market where high-mileage examples are common due to inter-emirate commuting, this vehicle represents a well-preserved option. The black exterior is a high-demand resale color in the UAE, typically attracting more buyers and holding its price better than niche or lighter shades.

PREMIER vs Lower Trims

The Premier trim significantly upgrades the cabin experience over the base IS300, often including the larger 10.3-inch infotainment display and premium audio components. GCC buyers will particularly appreciate the inclusion of ventilated front seats and a moonroof, features that are often optional or missing on entry-level specifications. It also adds key driver aids like blind-spot monitoring, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane highways in Dubai and Riyadh.

IS300 vs Segment Rivals

The IS300 leads rivals like the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4 in long-term ownership peace of mind, backed by the most extensive authorized service network in the GCC. While German competitors focus on sheer speed, the Lexus offers a more refined, vibration-free cabin and a 66-litre fuel tank that is ideal for long-distance highway drives between cities. Its physical controls and ergonomic interior are designed to withstand the intense local heat better than the touch-heavy interfaces found in newer competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L turbo engine is the most efficient in the IS lineup, averaging approximately 9.5L/100km in combined driving conditions. While this American spec model requires premium petrol to maintain its performance metrics, parts are widely available through both authorized dealers and independent specialists across the UAE. Lexus models in the GCC typically see a low annual depreciation rate of 8–10%, making this a safer financial investment than most European luxury sedans which can lose value nearly twice as fast.

Performance & Capability

The 241 hp turbocharged engine provides a punchy 350 Nm of torque available from as low as 1,650 rpm, ensuring effortless overtaking on the E11 or E311 highways. The 8-speed automatic transmission was retuned for the 2019 model year to offer quicker shifts and reduced turbo lag, resulting in a verified 0–100 km/h time of 6.5 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive layout provides a balanced chassis feel that makes it feel agile in city traffic while remaining planted at high cruising speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is centered around high-quality materials and a driver-focused cockpit featuring 8-way power-adjustable front seats. The air conditioning system is widely regarded as one of the best in the industry, capable of cooling the cabin rapidly even after being parked in direct summer sun. Acoustic glass and extensive insulation ensure that road noise is kept to a minimum, providing a serene environment for long drives across the borders.

Safety

Safety is managed by the Lexus Safety System+, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. Standard features like a high-resolution backup camera and multiple airbags provide comprehensive protection for all five passengers. These active systems are particularly valuable for maintaining safety during long-distance desert highway travel where driver fatigue can become a factor.

The bottom line

This IS300 is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants a reliable luxury sedan with a modern look and sensible mileage. It offers the perfect mix of Lexus dependability and turbocharged performance, making it a standout value proposition in the current UAE used market.
