Summary

This 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS450 offers a rare combination of the sleek 'four-door coupe' silhouette and the advanced M256 inline-six engine with EQ Boost. The Maroon exterior provides a sophisticated alternative to the common greyscale palette found in the GCC, helping it maintain a distinctive presence and strong resale appeal. With its mild-hybrid architecture, you get instant torque for city overtakes and high efficiency on the long highway stretches between emirates. This specific AMG-KIT trim bridges the gap between executive comfort and aggressive styling, making it one of the most balanced luxury sedans currently available in the market.

This Car vs Other 2019 CLS450s

At 86,900 km, this vehicle sits at a healthy average for a 2019 model in the UAE, where annual commutes often reach 25,000 km. The Maroon finish is a premium choice that stands out in a market saturated with white and silver, often attracting a quicker sale from buyers seeking exclusivity. As an American spec model, it provides the same core mechanical components as GCC versions but should be checked for local navigation and radio frequency compatibility.

AMG-KIT vs Lower Trims

The AMG-KIT transforms the CLS450 with more aggressive front and rear aprons, side skirts, and larger alloy wheels that fill the arches for a planted stance. Inside, you benefit from a flat-bottomed sport steering wheel and brushed aluminum pedals that aren't found on the base Luxury trim. These aesthetic upgrades are highly valued in the GCC second-hand market, often retaining a higher percentage of their original value compared to standard models.

CLS450 vs Segment Rivals

The CLS450 competes directly with the Audi A7 and BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, leading with a more refined inline-six engine compared to the Audi's V6. Its unique EQ Boost system provides a smoother stop-start transition, which is a major comfort advantage in heavy Dubai or Riyadh traffic. Furthermore, the 2019 redesign introduced a genuine five-seat layout, offering better family practicality than the strictly four-seat configuration found in earlier versions of this model and some rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0-litre mild-hybrid engine delivers an impressive real-world combined fuel consumption of approximately 9.8 L/100km, which is efficient for a six-cylinder luxury sedan. Mercedes-Benz maintains a massive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring that parts and expert technicians are always accessible. While European luxury sedans typically depreciate by 12–18% annually in the GCC, the AMG-styled CLS models tend to occupy the more resilient end of that spectrum due to high local demand for the body style.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 362 hp turbocharged inline-six, the CLS450 reaches 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds, providing effortless acceleration for highway merging. The 48-volt EQ Boost system adds an extra 22 hp and 250 Nm of electric torque to eliminate turbo lag, making the power delivery feel immediate. The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is specifically tuned for smooth, low-RPM cruising, making long-distance drives across the borders comfortable and quiet.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around a stunning 12.3-inch high-resolution display and features 64-color ambient lighting that includes illuminated turbine-style air vents. Standard leather upholstery and dual-zone climate control ensure passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer months. The frameless door glass and extensive acoustic insulation create a serene environment, shielding occupants from wind noise during high-speed highway travel.

Safety

This trim includes Mercedes-Benz's suite of advanced safety technology, featuring Blind Spot Monitoring and Forward Collision Warning as standard. Active Brake Assist helps prevent accidents in stop-start city traffic, while the Pre-Safe system prepares the cabin for impact if a collision is detected. These systems provide essential peace of mind on the fast-moving, multi-lane highways typical of the GCC region.

The bottom line

This CLS450 is the perfect choice for an executive who wants the head-turning style of a coupe without sacrificing the daily usability of a five-seat sedan. Its distinctive color and AMG styling make it a standout opportunity in a competitive luxury segment.
