Summary

This 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS450 is a sophisticated choice for those seeking the sleek silhouette of a coupe with the practicality of a five-seat sedan. Featuring the desirable AMG-KIT, it offers a more aggressive stance that resonates well with the aesthetic preferences of the GCC market. The white exterior is a prime resale choice in the region, known for its ability to deflect heat and maintain value. While the mileage is higher than the typical GCC average for this age, it reflects the car's suitability for long-distance cruising between emirates. This Japanese spec model delivers high-end cabin refinement and advanced mild-hybrid technology often found in meticulously maintained imports.

This Car vs Other 2019 CLS450s

With 157,000 km, this vehicle has seen more road time than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for GCC-based cars of the same year. However, the white exterior provides a significant advantage for local resale, as it remains the most sought-after color in the UAE. As a Japanese import, it often benefits from a history of strict maintenance standards compared to some high-use local examples.

AMG-KIT vs Lower Trims

The AMG-KIT transforms the CLS450 with more muscular front and rear aprons, side skirts, and larger wheels that command a presence on the road. Inside, this trim typically adds a sportier steering wheel and brushed aluminum accents that elevate the executive feel. These visual and tactile upgrades are highly valued by buyers in the region who prioritize the sporty AMG aesthetic.

CLS450 vs Segment Rivals

The CLS450 leads rivals like the Audi A7 and BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe with its exceptionally smooth inline-six engine and 48-volt EQ Boost system. Its 80-litre fuel tank is a standout feature for long-distance GCC highway travel, providing a theoretical range of over 900 km. The cabin insulation and wind noise reduction at high speeds also set it apart during fast-moving highway commutes.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the mild-hybrid powertrain averages around 8.7L/100km, offering better efficiency in stop-start city traffic compared to older V8 models. While Japanese spec cars may experience slightly faster depreciation than GCC spec equivalents, they offer a lower entry price for a high-spec vehicle. Parts are widely available through an extensive Mercedes-Benz service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Performance & Capability

The 3.0L inline-six engine produces 367 hp, enabling a swift 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4.8 seconds. The integrated EQ Boost system provides an additional 21 hp for instant response, which is particularly useful for overtaking on fast highways like the E11. Standard all-wheel drive ensures composed handling and stability on both wet roads and the occasional sandy surface found on arterial routes.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior is a focused luxury environment featuring the dual 12.3-inch digital displays and 64-color ambient lighting that Mercedes is famous for. For the GCC climate, the powerful air conditioning system and well-insulated glass provide essential relief from summer heat. The 2019 model year was the first to offer a full three-across rear seat, making it a viable option for small families.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including Active Brake Assist and Blind Spot Assist, which are crucial for navigating multi-lane highway traffic. The Pre-Safe system and multiple airbags provide top-tier protection, while the adaptive dampers ensure the car remains stable and controlled during sudden maneuvers or uneven road surfaces.

The bottom line

This AMG-KIT equipped CLS450 is the perfect opportunity for an executive buyer looking for a high-performance, stylish German sedan that stands out from the crowd without the premium price tag of a GCC-spec equivalent.
