Summary

This 2019 Mitsubishi Montero Sport GLS Premium Signature Edition is a standout choice in the GCC used market, combining genuine off-road hardware with refined family features. At 7 years old with 101,124 km, its mileage is exactly on target for the region's typical 15,000 km annual average, suggesting balanced usage. The Blue exterior is a sophisticated alternative to the common white and silver, while the Signature Edition trim adds high-demand luxuries like leather and a sunroof that bolster its resale value. It remains one of the few mid-size SUVs that transitions seamlessly from the daily Dubai commute to weekend desert adventures. For any GCC buyer, the Montero Sport represents the ideal blend of Mitsubishi's legendary durability and modern cabin technology.

This Car vs Other 2019 Montero Sports

With 101,124 km on the odometer, this vehicle sits at an average mileage for a 7-year-old car in the GCC, where highway driving often pushes numbers higher. The Blue paintwork is a distinctive, premium choice that holds its appeal well in the secondary market. Being a GCC-spec model, it features the uprated cooling and air conditioning systems essential for maintaining performance during peak summer months.

GLS PREMIUM SIGNATURE EDI vs Lower Trims

The GLS Premium Signature Edition is the range-topping specification, adding critical safety and luxury features not found on the GLX or standard GLS. You get the full 7-airbag system, a 360-degree bird's-eye view camera, and the advanced Forward Collision Mitigation system. Inside, it upgrades to power-adjustable leather seats and a factory sunroof, which are highly prized features for GCC resale.

Montero Sport vs Segment Rivals

The Montero Sport leads rivals like the Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X by offering a more sophisticated 8-speed automatic transmission for smoother highway cruising. Its Super Select 4WD-II system is more advanced than most competitors, allowing the driver to engage 4WD on high-grip surfaces, not just off-road. Additionally, the cabin refinement and digital display tech in this 2019 trim often exceed the more utilitarian interiors of its direct peers.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.0L V6 is a tried-and-tested powertrain across the Middle East, known for its ability to run reliably on local fuel grades. Real-world consumption typically averages around 10.5 L/100km on the highway, though city stop-start traffic will see this rise. Mitsubishi maintains one of the most extensive authorized service networks in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are affordable and readily available. As a high-trim Japanese SUV, it benefits from a lower depreciation rate compared to European rivals, typically losing only 8-10% annually.

Performance & Capability

Equipped with a 218 mm ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, this SUV is built for more than just the pavement. The 3.0L V6 produces 215 hp, providing the necessary torque for overtaking on the E11 or climbing dunes during a weekend in the Liwa desert. Its 8-speed transmission is specifically tuned to keep the engine in the power band, making long-distance drives across emirates remarkably effortless and quiet.

Comfort & Cabin

This 7-seater features a versatile layout with a genuinely usable third row and flat-folding seats for maximum cargo flexibility. The dual-zone climate control is paired with dedicated rear vents to ensure every passenger stays cool in 45-plus degree heat. Premium touches in this Signature Edition include soft-touch materials, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an 8-inch touchscreen system with smartphone connectivity for modern navigation.

Safety

Safety is a primary focus for this top-tier trim, which features the full Mitsubishi ADAS suite. Standard equipment includes Blind Spot Warning, which is vital for multi-lane GCC highways, and Adaptive Cruise Control for relaxed long-distance travel. The vehicle also includes Active Stability and Traction Control (M-ASTC) and a specialized Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System to prevent accidents in tight parking scenarios.

The bottom line

For the family that needs a rugged, reliable 7-seater that doesn't compromise on safety or technology, this Signature Edition Montero Sport is a rare find in such a well-balanced condition.
