Summary

This sedan offers a rare opportunity to own a meticulously maintained icon from the final generation of the petrol-only performance line. With mileage significantly below the typical GCC average for a 7-year-old vehicle, it represents a well-preserved example of rally-bred engineering. The manual transmission and white exterior make it a highly desirable choice for local enthusiasts, ensuring strong resale demand. While rivals move toward automation, this car remains a pure mechanical experience tailored for those who value driver engagement on both city highways and mountain passes. It stands out as a reliable performance daily that has avoided the high-km wear typical of the region's long-distance commutes.

This Car vs Other 2019 WRXs

With just 54,852 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered less than half the distance expected for a car of this age in the GCC market. While many 2019 models have surpassed the 120,000 km mark due to inter-emirate travel, this example remains in a lower-wear bracket. The white exterior is the most preferred color for UAE resale, offering superior heat reflection and long-term paint durability in the desert sun.

STI vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to this flagship trim replaces the standard 2.0L engine with a more robust 2.5L turbocharged boxer unit, delivering a significant jump in torque and character. It features the Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD), a sophisticated system not found on lower trims that allows the driver to manually adjust power distribution. Additionally, the upgraded Brembo performance braking system and a reinforced 6-speed manual gearbox provide the thermal management and durability required for high-speed GCC highway driving.

WRX vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Volkswagen Golf R and Honda Civic Type R, this model offers a distinct mechanical feel and a permanent all-wheel-drive system that provides superior grip on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces. While European rivals often prioritize interior refinement, this car leads in raw driver feedback and ruggedness, making it better suited for the high-temperature demands of the region. Its larger engine displacement provides a more linear power delivery that is particularly effective for high-speed overtaking on the E11.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 10.9L/100km, though this can vary during stop-start traffic in major GCC cities. Service intervals are typically set at every 10,000 km, and with a robust authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, parts availability remains high. This model enjoys exceptionally strong value retention in the local market, depreciating at a slower rate than its European luxury counterparts due to its cult following and mechanical reliability.

Performance & Capability

A 0–100 km/h sprint of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h ensure this sedan holds its own against modern performance cars. The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system is paired with a close-ratio manual transmission, offering a level of tactile control that is increasingly rare in the segment. In the GCC context, the sophisticated cooling system and intercooler sprayer help maintain consistent performance even when ambient temperatures climb during the summer months.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for functional performance, featuring supportive Alcantara-trimmed sports seats that remain comfortable during long drives between cities. Dedicated rear cooling vents ensure passengers stay comfortable in the heat, while the 460-litre boot provides practical space for weekend trips. The interior is focused on the driver, featuring a flat-bottomed leather steering wheel and a clear digital multi-function display for real-time boost and oil temperature monitoring.

Safety

This vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including seven airbags and a high-tensile strength ring-shaped reinforcement frame. Active torque vectoring and vehicle dynamics control are standard, providing essential stability during sudden maneuvers on fast-moving highways. The Brembo braking system offers exceptional stopping power and fade resistance, a critical safety feature when driving in high-speed GCC traffic conditions.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast seeking the last true rally-spec manual sedan, this low-mileage GCC example is the definitive choice for long-term ownership and value.
