Summary

This 2020 Bentley Bentayga Speed represents the mechanical pinnacle of the pre-facelift generation, featuring the iconic W12 engine that has since been largely phased out. As a GCC-spec flagship, it offers the ultimate combination of high-speed stability for long highway drives between emirates and an interior crafted with Speed-exclusive Alcantara finishes. With mileage at 97,000 km, it has been driven regularly across the region and sits in a sweet spot of stabilized depreciation for a high-value exotic SUV. For a buyer in the GCC, this is a rare chance to own one of the world's fastest production SUVs in a classic white-on-white configuration that maintains strong resale appeal.

This Car vs Other 2020 Bentaygas

With 97,000 km, this Bentayga has seen average to slightly high annual usage typical for a GCC executive commuter, meaning its mechanical components are well-exercised rather than sitting idle. The white exterior is the most sought-after color for resale in the UAE and Saudi Arabian markets, reflecting heat effectively during extreme summers. Compared to lower-mileage examples, this vehicle offers a significantly more accessible entry point into W12 ownership while benefiting from the superior cooling systems standard on GCC-spec models.

SPEED vs Lower Trims

The Speed trim is a significant leap over the V8, replacing the 4.0L engine with a massive 6.0L W12 that produces 626 hp and 900 Nm of torque. Beyond the power, the Speed adds the Bentley Dynamic Ride system as standard, using 48V active roll control to keep the car flat through corners, along with dark-tinted exterior brightware and unique 22-inch wheels. Inside, the Speed-exclusive color split introduces Alcantara upholstery for the first time in a Bentayga, alongside 'Speed' embroidered headrests and illuminated treadplates.

Bentayga vs Segment Rivals

The Bentayga Speed competes directly with the Lamborghini Urus and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, leading the Urus in top speed and offering a more traditional, hand-crafted British luxury feel than the performance-focused Italian. Its W12 engine provides a level of smooth, effortless power that V8-powered rivals like the Range Rover SV or Aston Martin DBX cannot match. For long-distance GCC road trips, the Bentley’s cabin insulation and high-speed refinement remain the benchmark for the segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the W12 Speed averages around 14.3 L/100km on combined cycles, though city traffic in Riyadh or Dubai will see this rise significantly. Bentley requires servicing every 16,000 km or 12 months, and with a well-established authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, maintenance is straightforward for local owners. As the W12 engine enters its final production years, the Speed trim is expected to hold its value better than standard V8 models due to its flagship status and collector appeal.

Performance & Capability

The Bentayga Speed is one of the fastest SUVs ever built, reaching a top speed of 306 km/h and sprinting to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Its 900 Nm of torque is available from just 1,500 rpm, providing immediate overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. While it features all-wheel drive and selectable terrain modes, the Speed is optimized for high-performance road use and high-speed cruising rather than aggressive off-roading.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a masterclass in craftsmanship, featuring diamond-quilted leather and Speed-exclusive Alcantara trim that provides extra grip during spirited driving. GCC owners will appreciate the four-zone climate control system, designed to maintain a cool cabin even in 50°C heat, along with acoustic glazing that keeps the interior silent. The Speed also includes the Mulliner Driving Specification as standard, which adds drilled alloy sports pedals and jewel-finish fuel and oil filler caps.

Safety

Standard safety features include the City Specification, which provides a 360-degree top-view camera, traffic sign recognition, and pedestrian warning systems essential for navigating tight urban parking. The Bentayga also features advanced driver aids like blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, which are vital for safety on long, high-speed desert highways. Multiple airbags and a high-strength body structure ensure it meets the highest standards of occupant protection.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Bentayga Speed is the ideal choice for a buyer who wants the prestige of a W12 engine and the performance of a supercar in a versatile SUV package. It stands as a powerful value proposition in the current market, offering flagship features and iconic engineering at a stabilized price point.
