Ford F-150 RAPTOR SUPER CAB

Highlights

• 421 hp from a 3.5-litre V6 engine
• 2,721 kg braked towing capacity
• 810 mm wading depth

Summary

This GCC-spec Raptor SuperCab offers a distinct advantage for local buyers, featuring a more maneuverable wheelbase that excels in technical dune sections compared to the longer SuperCrew models. Finished in silver—a top-tier choice for heat rejection and high resale value in the UAE market—this truck shows average mileage for its age, suggesting it has been used as intended for regional highway and desert travel. As a 2020 model, it represents the refinement of the second-generation Raptor, combining the high-output EcoBoost engine with a lightweight aluminum body. The Raptor remains the segment leader for factory-ready off-road performance, making it the premier choice for enthusiasts who want a vehicle that requires zero modifications for the Liwa or Al Qudra sands.

This Car vs Other 2020 F-150s

With 126,000 km, this truck sits right at the average annual mileage expected for a GCC-owned vehicle that balances city commuting with weekend desert trips. The silver exterior is a strategic advantage for regional buyers, as it maintains its finish better under the harsh sun and holds a significant resale premium over less common colors. Unlike many American-spec imports found in the UAE, this GCC-spec unit is built to handle local fuel grades and extreme thermal loads without modification.

RAPTOR SUPER CAB vs Lower Trims

The Raptor sits above the Lariat and Platinum trims, replacing standard components with Fox Racing Live Valve internal bypass shocks and a specialized long-travel suspension system. This specific SuperCab trim adds a 4.10 front axle with a Torsen differential and a unique Torque-on-Demand transfer case that bridges the gap between traditional 4x4 and AWD. Inside, you get trim-specific magnesium paddle shifters and heavy-duty auxiliary switches for accessories, features not found on standard F-150 trims.

F-150 vs Segment Rivals

The F-150 Raptor leads rivals like the RAM 1500 TRX and Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss in terms of overall vehicle weight, utilizing a high-strength aluminum body that improves sand-flotation and agility. Its 98-litre fuel tank provides superior range for long-distance desert expeditions between the Emirates, outclassing many standard pickups. The Ford also offers a more mature parts ecosystem in the GCC, ensuring easier long-term maintenance compared to newer performance truck entrants.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 15-16 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, though this can increase during heavy dune sessions. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km at authorized Ford centers like Al Tayer or Premier Motors, who maintain an extensive network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The Raptor trim enjoys some of the lowest depreciation rates in the pickup segment, typically retaining significant value after three years due to its iconic status among regional off-roaders.

Performance & Capability

The high-output 3.5L engine delivers 421 hp and 610 Nm of torque, enabling confident highway overtaking even when fully loaded. The Terrain Management System includes a dedicated 'Baja Mode' specifically tuned for high-speed desert running, optimizing throttle response and shift points for soft sand. With 292 mm of ground clearance and a factory-rated 810 mm wading depth, this truck is prepared for both the deepest dunes and the occasional UAE flash flood.

Comfort & Cabin

The SuperCab layout provides a flexible interior with rear-hinged doors that open 170 degrees, offering excellent access to the rear bench for gear or passengers. The GCC-spec air conditioning is exceptionally powerful, designed to cool the cabin rapidly even when ambient temperatures exceed 45 degrees Celsius. Enthusiasts will appreciate the leather-trimmed sport seats that provide extra lateral support during off-road maneuvers while remaining comfortable for long drives to Oman or Riyadh.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes Ford's Co-Pilot360 suite, featuring Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with trailer coverage—a vital tool for the fast-moving, multi-lane highways of the UAE. It also features Curve Control and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, which are specifically calibrated to handle the higher center of gravity during emergency maneuvers or on loose gravel tracks.

The bottom line

For the UAE enthusiast seeking a desert-ready truck that balances high-speed performance with GCC-proven reliability, this silver Raptor SuperCab is the ideal tactical choice.
