Summary

This 2020 Kia Telluride LX is a standout family SUV for the GCC market, offering a rarely seen combination of low mileage and eight-passenger capacity. With just 49,000 km, this vehicle has been driven significantly less than the regional average, suggesting excellent mechanical longevity for its next owner. Its black exterior is a high-demand, strong resale color in the UAE, while the powerful V6 engine is perfectly suited for high-speed highway cruising between emirates. In a segment often filled with seven-seat options, the Telluride LX's eight-seat layout provides genuine utility for large families or groups. As a recipient of numerous global SUV of the year awards, it represents a high-value entry into a modern, refined crossover that handles GCC heat and traffic with ease.

This Car vs Other 2020 Tellurides

With only 49,000 km on the odometer, this Telluride LX has covered roughly 10,000 km per year, which is less than half the typical GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. This low usage makes it a highly attractive alternative to high-mileage examples often found in the secondary market. The black exterior remains one of the most stable colors for resale value in the local region, ensuring a quicker exit when it is time to upgrade.

LX vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim, the LX is designed for maximum utility, being one of only two trims to offer a full eight-seat configuration rather than the captain's chairs found in higher specs. It standardizes essential GCC driver-assist tools like Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, features often missing on entry-level rivals. You also get 18-inch alloy wheels that provide a more cushioned ride over rougher terrain compared to the 20-inch wheels on sportier trims.

Telluride vs Segment Rivals

The Telluride leads rivals like the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander in both standard towing capacity and sheer cabin width, making it feel significantly more spacious during long desert drives. Its 3.8L V6 is naturally aspirated, avoiding the complexities of turbocharging in extreme summer heat, a reliability factor that GCC buyers prioritize. The Telluride's boxier design also translates to superior third-row headroom compared to the more sloped rooflines of its competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the AWD 3.8L V6 typically averages around 11.3 L/100km, which is efficient for an eight-seater during long highway runs but rises in heavy city traffic. Kia’s extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures that maintenance and parts are readily available and affordable. The Telluride has shown remarkably strong value retention in the GCC market, typically depreciating less than 25% over its first three years, outperforming many American and European rivals.

Performance & Capability

The Telluride delivers a verified 2,268 kg (5,000 lbs) braked towing capacity, making it a capable choice for weekend trips to the coast with a trailer or boat. Its 291 hp V6 engine enables 0-100 km/h acceleration in approximately 7.2 seconds, providing confident overtaking power on fast-moving highways like the E11. With 203 mm of ground clearance and selectable drive modes including Smart, Eco, and Sport, it handles everything from rain-slicked city streets to gravel tracks with composure.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is optimized for the GCC climate, featuring a powerful multi-zone air conditioning system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all three rows stay cool during peak summer. The eight-seat layout utilizes durable SOFINO leatherette, which is easier to clean and maintain than traditional fabric or real leather in sandy environments. Sound-insulating acoustic glass helps keep the interior quiet, significantly reducing wind noise during high-speed highway commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Safety

This LX trim is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Forward Collision-Avoidance with Pedestrian Detection and Lane Keeping Assist, which are vital for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic. It also features Safe Exit Assist, a crucial technology that prevents passengers from opening doors into oncoming traffic, and a standard rearview camera with dynamic parking guidance. These active systems, combined with a robust airbag configuration, earned the model a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer seeking a nearly-new family workhorse, this low-mileage 8-seater Telluride offers the ideal balance of award-winning safety and strong resale potential. It is the perfect opportunity to secure a high-demand SUV that is mechanically fresh and ready for years of regional travel.
