Summary

This 2020 CLA250 AMG is a sharp choice for those seeking a stylish executive sedan that balances performance with daily usability. With 78,000 km, it sits comfortably within the expected mileage for its age in the GCC, offering a well-maintained entry into the premium segment. The AMG styling gives it a more aggressive presence on the road compared to standard models, while the black exterior remains a high-demand, high-resale choice in the local market. Its All Wheel Drive system ensures composed handling during the occasional rainy days and stability on high-speed highway commutes across the emirates.

This Car vs Other 2020 CLA250s

At 78,000 km, this vehicle has been driven roughly 19,500 km per year, which is below the typical GCC average of 25,000 km for highway-heavy commuting. The black exterior is one of the strongest resale colors in the UAE and wider region, ensuring it holds its value better than more niche shades. Being the AMG-styled variant, it carries a significant visual and equipment advantage over base-spec units often found in this price bracket.

AMG vs Lower Trims

The AMG trim adds the signature diamond radiator grille, more aggressive front and rear bumpers, and unique 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels that define its sporty silhouette. Inside, you get sport seats with integrated headrests and the AMG-specific flat-bottom steering wheel, which are highly sought after by GCC buyers. These upgrades make the car feel more premium and help it stand out in the competitive used car market.

CLA250 vs Segment Rivals

The CLA250 competes directly with the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and the Audi A3 Sedan, leading the group with its striking 'coupe-style' four-door design and the intuitive MBUX infotainment system. Its 4MATIC All-Wheel Drive provides superior traction compared to front-wheel-drive competitors, especially useful for confident highway overtaking. The 405-litre boot offers surprising practicality for a vehicle that prioritizes such a sleek, aerodynamic profile.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 6.5–7.9 L/100km, making it efficient for long commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. As a Mercedes-Benz, it benefits from an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, though out-of-warranty maintenance should be planned for at specialized premium centers. European luxury sedans like the CLA typically see 12–15% annual depreciation in the GCC, but the AMG styling helps buffer this by appealing to a wider range of enthusiast buyers.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers 221 hp, allowing for a brisk 0–100 km/h sprint in just 6.3 seconds. This power is managed by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that provides smooth shifts for city traffic and rapid response for highway merges. Its All Wheel Drive (4MATIC) system is a standout feature in this class, offering improved road-holding and safety during the high-speed transit typical of GCC road networks.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around the dual-screen MBUX interface, featuring advanced voice control and a digital cockpit that remains one of the best in its class for the 2020 model year. Despite its compact dimensions, the interior is well-insulated from exterior road noise and the intense GCC summer heat. The sport seats provide excellent lateral support, and the dual-zone climate control ensures rapid cooling for all five passengers even in peak summer conditions.

Safety

The 2020 CLA achieved a full 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, scoring exceptionally high for adult and child occupant protection. Standard safety features include Active Brake Assist, which is vital for stop-start city traffic, and Lane Keeping Assist to help with fatigue on long desert stretches. The robust set of airbags and advanced stability control systems provide peace of mind for both daily commutes and family trips across borders.

The bottom line

This CLA250 AMG is the perfect opportunity for an upwardly mobile professional looking for a prestigious, low-mileage sedan that looks much more expensive than its price tag suggests. It combines the resale security of a black-on-black Mercedes with the performance edge of the AMG line.
