Summary

This 2020 GLC 300 Premium Plus offers a sophisticated entry into the luxury SUV segment, featuring the M264 hybrid-assisted engine for improved efficiency in stop-start traffic. As a Premium Plus trim, it carries the most desirable tech upgrades that GCC buyers look for, including the upgraded audio and panoramic views. White remains the top resale color in the region, providing a significant advantage when it comes time to trade in. While it is an American spec vehicle, it provides a high-specification interior at a competitive price point, though local service history verification is recommended for peace of mind. For those navigating the UAE's busy highways, this model's blend of refined power and premium cabin insulation makes it a standout daily commuter.

This Car vs Other 2020 GLC 300s

With 91,265 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven approximately 22,800 km per year, which aligns perfectly with the average annual usage for SUVs in the GCC. The white exterior is the most practical choice for the local climate, reflecting heat more effectively than darker tones and maintaining the strongest resale value in the UAE market. Choosing this specific mileage and color combination balances immediate utility with long-term asset protection.

PREMIUM PLUS vs Lower Trims

The Premium Plus trim is the highest tier available, adding essential luxury features not found on the Sport or standard Premium versions. It upgrades the driving experience with a high-fidelity Burmester surround sound system and a 360-degree camera for effortless parking in tight urban spaces. You also benefit from a large panoramic sunroof and enhanced ambient lighting, creating a significantly more upscale atmosphere than base models.

GLC 300 vs Segment Rivals

The GLC 300 leads the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 in interior design and digital interface usability, especially with the 2020 MBUX infotainment update. While rivals offer similar dimensions, the Mercedes provides a more plush ride quality suited for long stretches of E11 highway cruising. Its 550-litre boot capacity also ensures it remains more practical for family road trips than many performance-focused crossovers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the hybrid-assisted 2.0L engine typically averages around 8.1L/100km on a combined cycle, though this can vary during the peak summer months when the air conditioning system is under high load. Service intervals are generally every 15,000 km at authorized Mercedes-Benz centers, which are widely available across all major GCC cities including Dubai, Riyadh, and Muscat. As a luxury European SUV, it typically depreciates by 12–18% annually, though the Premium Plus trim levels tend to hold their value better due to high demand for tech-heavy specs.

Performance & Capability

The 258 hp turbocharged engine delivers a brisk 0–100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds, providing ample power for quick highway overtaking and smooth merges. The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system ensures stable handling on gravel tracks and during infrequent rain, while the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission keeps the engine in its optimal power band. While designed for the road, its ground clearance allows for light weekend excursions and handles the varying road textures of regional desert highways with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a masterclass in ergonomics, featuring high-quality materials and dedicated rear cooling vents that are essential for passenger comfort during the Gulf summer. The Premium Plus specification includes a panoramic glass roof that brightens the interior, while the 10.25-inch touchscreen offers seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Acoustic insulation is excellent, effectively muting road noise during high-speed commutes between emirates.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this trim, featuring Blind Spot Assist and Active Brake Assist as standard to manage fast-moving highway traffic. The 360-degree camera system provides a bird's-eye view that is invaluable for navigating narrow parking garages in major cities. Additionally, Pre-Safe technology and seven airbags provide a robust safety net, ensuring high levels of protection for all five occupants.

The bottom line

This GLC 300 is the ideal choice for a professional or small family seeking the highest possible specification in a mid-sized SUV without the price tag of a GCC-spec model.
