Mercedes Benz GLE350 USA SPEC

Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 7.1 seconds
• 630 litres of boot space
• 85-litre fuel tank capacity

Summary

This 2020 GLE350 offers a balanced entry into the luxury SUV segment, combining Mercedes-Benz's modernized MBUX technology with a capable turbocharged powertrain. With mileage that reflects typical highway use in the UAE, it presents a significantly more accessible price point than local counterparts due to its American specification. Silver remains one of the top three most desirable colors in the GCC for resale, effectively hiding road dust and maintaining its luster in the desert sun. For a buyer seeking the prestige of the redesigned V167 chassis without the premium of a six-cylinder engine, this model serves as a practical yet sophisticated daily driver. The inclusion of the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system ensures confident handling across varying road surfaces, from city highways to gravel weekend paths.

This Car vs Other 2020 GLE350s

At roughly 90,000 km, this vehicle’s usage is slightly above the typical annual average for the UAE but is consistent with American imports that often see heavy highway use before export. Silver is a high-demand resale color in the local market, offering better heat reflection and easier maintenance compared to darker shades. As an American spec, it provides a cost-effective alternative to GCC models while sharing the same fundamental mechanical architecture.

USA SPEC vs Lower Trims

This trim includes the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system as standard, providing a significant traction advantage over the base rear-wheel-drive GLE350 often found in other markets. It also features the upgraded 12.3-inch dual-screen MBUX interface and LED lighting which were major highlights of the 2020 redesign. The USA SPEC often arrives with high-value convenience options like blind-spot assist and a power-operated liftgate that add daily utility in GCC traffic.

GLE350 vs Segment Rivals

The GLE350 leads rivals like the BMW X5 and Audi Q7 in sheer cargo versatility, offering a generous 630-litre boot that expands to over 2,000 litres with seats folded. Its 85-litre fuel tank is one of the largest in its class, providing superior range for long-distance travel between emirates compared to the smaller tanks found in some competitors. The MBUX voice control system is widely considered the most intuitive in the segment, perfect for hands-free adjustments while navigating busy highways.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L turbocharged engine is designed for efficiency, with a combined fuel consumption of approximately 10.9L/100km, which is well-suited for the stop-start traffic of Dubai or Riyadh. Service centers for Mercedes-Benz are exceptionally well-distributed across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, ensuring that parts and expertise are always within reach despite the American regional spec. While American imports depreciate differently than GCC-spec cars, the GLE’s global popularity ensures a steady pool of buyers in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

Delivering 255 hp and 370 Nm of torque, this SUV manages a 0–100 km/h sprint in a respectable 7.1 seconds, providing ample power for highway overtaking. The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is calibrated for smooth shifts, maximizing comfort during long desert drives while maintaining fuel economy at high cruising speeds. With a manufacturer-rated top speed of 210 km/h, it remains composed and quiet even at the upper limits of regional speed zones.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a standout in its class, featuring a massive panoramic digital dashboard and 64-color ambient lighting that transforms the interior atmosphere at night. Designed for five adults, it offers significant rear legroom and dedicated cooling vents essential for maintaining passenger comfort during the peak GCC summer months. Acoustic insulation is high, shielding occupants from both engine noise and the wind buffeting common on open desert roads.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes the Mercedes-Benz Pre-Safe system, which prepares the cabin for an imminent collision, and Active Brake Assist. Useful for GCC highway driving, it features Blind Spot Assist and a 360-degree camera system that simplifies parking in tight urban spaces. The vehicle is also equipped with Crosswind Assist, a vital feature for maintaining stability when encountering sudden gusts on open desert highways.

The bottom line

For the buyer who wants the latest Mercedes-Benz SUV design and tech at a fraction of the GCC-spec price, this silver GLE350 is a smart, high-utility choice.
