Summary

This 2020 Mitsubishi Pajero GLS Signature Edition offers a compelling blend of low mileage and the most desirable powertrain available in its final production years. Finished in white, the strongest resale color in the GCC, this unit features the 3.8L V6 engine which provides the necessary torque for effortless dune driving and confident highway overtaking. As a Signature Edition, it is equipped with premium touches like the Rockford Fosgate audio system and a factory body kit that distinguishes it from standard models. For the GCC buyer, this represents the peak of the Pajero's evolution, combining legendary off-road hardware with modern cabin comforts. Its reputation for bulletproof reliability and the extensive service network across the region make it a secure choice for long-term ownership.

This Car vs Other 2020 Pajeros

With just 64,599 km, this Pajero has covered significantly less distance than the 80,000–100,000 km typical for a four-year-old SUV in the GCC. This lower usage ensures less wear on the suspension and Super Select 4WD components, offering a mechanical advantage over high-mileage alternatives. The white exterior is the preferred choice for the local climate and remains the most liquid color for future resale in the UAE and wider Gulf market.

GLS H/L SIGNATURE EDI vs Lower Trims

The Signature Edition adds a level of refinement often missing in lower GLS or GLX trims, most notably the 12-speaker Rockford Fosgate premium audio system and a specialized body kit with chrome accents. Inside, you benefit from leather-appointed power seats and a wood-grain steering wheel, which provide a more executive feel during long desert highway drives. It also includes the critical rear differential lock, a hardware feature frequently omitted on base 3.0L models.

Pajero vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Toyota Prado or Nissan Pathfinder, the Pajero stands out for its unique monocoque chassis with a built-in ladder frame, offering better on-road stability without sacrificing the 235 mm ground clearance needed for wadis. While rivals often use CVT or road-biased AWD systems, the Pajero’s Super Select II 4WD allows you to shift between 2WD and 4WD at speeds up to 100 km/h. Its 88-liter fuel tank is specifically suited for long-distance cross-country travel between GCC cities.

Running Costs & Resale

The 3.8L V6 is a robust engine that typically consumes 13.5 L/100km on a combined cycle, with highway cruising being notably more efficient for trips between emirates. Mitsubishi's authorized service network is one of the most established in the GCC, ensuring parts are readily available and affordable in any major city from Dubai to Muscat. The Pajero holds its value exceptionally well, with a flat depreciation curve after the first three years, making it one of the most fiscally responsible 4x4s to own.

Performance & Capability

The 243 hp MIVEC engine delivers its peak torque early in the rev range, which is vital for maintaining momentum in soft GCC sand. The Super Select II system provides four distinct driving modes, including a locked-center 4WD high range for gravel and a 4LLc low range for technical climbing. With a verified 700 mm wading depth and excellent approach angles, this SUV is equally capable of navigating sudden seasonal floods or exploring deep into the Liwa dunes.

Comfort & Cabin

This seven-seater features a versatile layout where the third row can be stowed completely flat or removed for maximum cargo space during family camping trips. The powerful GCC-spec climate control system includes dedicated rear cooling vents with independent controls to ensure all passengers stay comfortable in 45°C+ summer heat. Premium leather seating and acoustic glass help keep the cabin quiet, isolating passengers from road and wind noise during high-speed highway commutes.

Safety

Standard safety equipment on this trim includes front and side airbags, Active Stability and Traction Control, and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. The rear-view camera and parking sensors are essential for navigating the Pajero's large footprint in tight city parking. For highway safety, the cruise control and high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps provide better visibility and reduced driver fatigue during nighttime desert drives.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a family or enthusiast seeking the most powerful version of a Japanese icon with mileage that suggests years of trouble-free adventure ahead.
