Summary

This 2021 BMW X6 M Competition offers an incredible performance profile, featuring a twin-turbo V8 that delivers supercar-rivaling acceleration in a versatile SUV body. With 60,080 km on the odometer, its mileage is exactly in line with the expected 20,000 km annual average for the GCC, indicating consistent and appropriate use over its 5 years. Finished in Grey—a high-demand, high-resale color in the region—it stands out against standard models with its aggressive Competition-specific styling and staggered wheel setup. For a buyer in the UAE or wider Gulf, this provides a unique opportunity to own a top-tier performance SAV that bridges the gap between daily practical luxury and track-ready power. The Canadian regional spec offers a high standard of interior technology, making it a compelling alternative to local variants for the feature-conscious enthusiast.

This Car vs Other 2021 X6s

With 60,080 km accumulated over 5 years, this vehicle sits perfectly at the average usage mark for the UAE market, where long highway commutes are the norm. The Grey exterior is one of the most resilient and sought-after colors for resale in the Middle East, maintaining its value better than more niche shades. As a Canadian spec import, it often features a higher baseline of tech equipment compared to many entry-level regional models.

M COMPETITION vs Lower Trims

The M Competition sits at the absolute peak of the X6 hierarchy, adding a power bump to 617 hp and an M Sport exhaust system that isn't found on the standard M model. Inside, it upgrades the experience with standard 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio and M-specific seats, while the exterior gains staggered 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels for superior handling. These performance-focused additions are highly prized by GCC collectors and significantly aid value retention.

X6 vs Segment Rivals

The X6 M Competition competes directly with the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe and the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe, leading the pack with its distinct 'Sports Activity Coupe' silhouette and more aggressive suspension tuning. Its iDrive system is widely regarded as the most intuitive for use during high-speed highway driving across the Emirates. The massive 83-litre fuel tank ensures fewer stops on long-distance desert crossings compared to some more fuel-restricted competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this high-performance V8 typically averages around 12.9 L/100km in combined cycles, though city driving in heavy Dubai traffic will see this rise. Service intervals are managed by BMW's Condition Based Servicing (CBS), typically requiring attention every 10,000 to 12,000 km at authorized BMW centers which are plentiful across the UAE and KSA. While non-GCC specs may see a slightly faster initial depreciation, the rarity and demand for the M Competition trim help stabilize long-term value.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this machine is the 617 hp Twin-Turbo V8, capable of launching this SUV to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, making it one of the fastest production SUVs on the road. The xDrive four-wheel-drive system is rear-biased to provide a sports car feel while maintaining absolute stability on sandy or dusty road surfaces. With a 213 mm ground clearance, it handles urban obstacles and gravel paths with ease, though its true home is the open highway or the track.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in driver-centric luxury, featuring five seats upholstered in premium leather with M-specific bolstering for high-speed cornering. Standard four-zone climate control and ventilated seating options are essential for maintaining comfort during the intense GCC summer months. The digital cockpit and large head-up display ensure all vital performance data is visible without taking your eyes off the fast-moving highway traffic.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, including Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning, which are invaluable for safety on the UAE's multi-lane highway systems. The 360-degree surround-view camera makes parking this wide SUV effortless in tight urban spaces. Adaptive LED headlights provide exceptional visibility for night driving on unlit desert roads, ensuring a secure environment for all five passengers.

The bottom line

For the performance enthusiast who needs SUV utility without sacrificing supercar speed, this well-maintained 2021 M Competition is a standout choice in the current market.
