Summary

This 2021 Ford F-150 XLT is a powerful petrol workhorse, ideally suited for the demands of the GCC market. With a robust 8-cylinder engine and the practicality of a four-door pickup, it offers a blend of performance and utility that is highly valued by regional buyers. The grey exterior is a neutral, sought-after choice in the UAE, ensuring strong resale potential. While the mileage reflects its status as a reliable daily driver or work vehicle, its GCC specification ensures it is built to handle the extreme local temperatures and long highway stretches typical of the region.

This Car vs Other 2021 F-150s

With 159,000 km, this truck's mileage is slightly above the typical annual average for the GCC, indicating consistent highway use which is common for regional commuters. The grey exterior is a highly resilient and popular color for resale in the local market, holding its value better than more niche shades. Its GCC specification is a primary advantage, offering cooling and hardware specifically tuned for the Arabian climate.

XLT vs Lower Trims

The XLT trim provides a significant step up from the base XL, adding essential features for the GCC driver such as the Ford Co-Pilot360™ safety suite, including blind-spot monitoring and rear automatic braking. It also introduces cruise control and a power-locking tailgate, providing much-needed convenience for long desert highway drives and frequent bed access. The interior also benefits from carpeted flooring and lumbar adjustments, offering a more refined cabin experience than the work-oriented XL.

F-150 vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Chevrolet Silverado, the F-150 XLT offers a more modern cabin and the highly advanced 10-speed automatic transmission which provides smoother power delivery across GCC highways. Against the Toyota Tundra, the Ford leads with its lighter aluminum-alloy body, which helps maintain efficiency despite the large V8 engine. The SYNC 4 infotainment system remains one of the most intuitive in the segment, offering superior connectivity for daily use.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.0L V8 in GCC conditions averages approximately 10.6 L/100km, making it efficient for its class during highway cruising between emirates. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Ford's extensive authorized network across the UAE and KSA ensures parts are readily available and affordable. The F-150 historically retains roughly 45-50% of its value over three years in the GCC, performing consistently alongside its primary American rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine provides 555 Nm of torque, ensuring effortless overtaking on high-speed motorways and reliable performance for weekend desert excursions. Mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the power delivery is responsive and well-suited for both stop-start city traffic and heavy-duty towing. Its body-on-frame construction and military-grade aluminum panels provide the durability required for professional use or demanding off-road terrain.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for the high-temperature GCC environment, featuring a powerful air conditioning system with dedicated vents that maintain comfort even in 45°C+ heat. The 8-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen provides full smartphone integration, while the spacious front seating and lumbar support are tailored for long-distance comfort. Acoustic insulation helps keep the interior quiet, protecting occupants from road noise during long cross-border journeys.

Safety

Safety is prioritized with the standard inclusion of the Ford Co-Pilot360™ suite, featuring Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and a Lane-Keeping System. These technologies are particularly effective on fast-moving UAE highways, providing an extra layer of protection during long commutes. Standard blind-spot monitoring and a rear-view camera make navigating tight city parking and large intersections significantly safer for a vehicle of this size.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec F-150 XLT is an ideal choice for the buyer who needs a proven V8 workhorse with modern safety tech, offering a reliable ownership experience supported by a vast regional service network.
