Summary

This GCC-spec 2018 Infiniti Q70 Luxury is a refined executive choice for buyers seeking Japanese reliability paired with a potent naturally aspirated V6. While the mileage reflects the long-distance highway commutes typical for UAE residents, the black-on-black color combination remains one of the most desirable for resale in the local market. The Luxury trim offers a significant step up in cabin materials and sound insulation compared to standard executive sedans, making it ideal for daily inter-emirate travel. As a flagship sedan from Nissan's luxury division, it provides a more analog and connected driving experience than many newer, overly digitized rivals. For a GCC buyer, the primary draw here is the robust 3.7L engine, which is well-regarded for handling extreme summer temperatures without the complexity of modern turbocharged units.

This Car vs Other 2018 Q70s

At 385,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is high compared to the GCC average of 25,000 km per year, suggesting it has served as a dedicated long-haul highway cruiser. However, the black exterior is a high-demand resale color in the UAE and wider Gulf region, which helps maintain its market appeal despite the distance covered. Buyers often prefer these highway miles over stop-start city wear as they typically result in less strain on the transmission and cooling systems.

LUXURY vs Lower Trims

The 2018 Luxury trim serves as the primary gateway to Infiniti's premium features, adding essential GCC comforts like climate-controlled ventilated front seats and the Around View Monitor with moving object detection. It also upgrades the audio experience to a 10-speaker Bose system and includes the InTouch navigation suite, which were not standard on the base export models. These features, particularly the ventilated seating, are critical for maintaining value and comfort during the peak GCC summer months.

Q70 vs Segment Rivals

The Q70 competes directly with the Lexus GS and BMW 5 Series, leading its segment with a large 80-litre fuel tank that is perfectly suited for long desert highway runs between cities like Dubai and Riyadh. Unlike the Lexus GS, the Q70's 3.7L VQ-series engine offers a more visceral power delivery, and it generally provides more generous rear-seat legroom than the contemporary 5 Series. The Infiniti also benefits from a wider authorized service network across the northern emirates compared to some European luxury rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 3.7L V6 averages approximately 10.2 L/100km, though this can rise in the stop-start traffic of Sheikh Zayed Road. The naturally aspirated engine is designed to run efficiently on Super 98 or Special 95 fuel, widely available across all ADNOC and ENOC stations. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and with one of the most established authorized networks in the GCC via AW Rostamani and Al Masaood, parts are readily available. While European luxury sedans can depreciate by up to 18% annually, the Q70 typically holds a slightly better curve due to its mechanical shared heritage with Nissan's reliable platforms.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this sedan is the 330-horsepower V6, which enables a verified 0–100 km/h sprint in just 6.2 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on high-speed motorways. The 7-speed automatic transmission features Downshift Rev Matching, giving the car a sporty character that belies its executive size. With a top speed electronically capped at 250 km/h, it remains composed and quiet at the 140 km/h cruising speeds common on UAE highways. The Infiniti Drive Mode Selector allows the driver to toggle between Standard, Sport, and Eco modes to suit different GCC driving environments.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is centered around Japanese 'Omotenashi' hospitality, featuring semi-aniline leather seats and genuine wood trim that stays cooler in the sun than synthetic alternatives. The dual-zone climate control is specifically engineered for high-ambient-temperature markets, featuring rear cooling vents to ensure all five passengers remain comfortable. Acoustic glass and Active Noise Cancellation technology work together to isolate the interior from road noise and the harsh desert wind, creating a sanctuary for long-distance travel.

Safety

This Q70 comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and Traction Control as standard. The Around View Monitor provides a 360-degree bird's-eye view, which is invaluable for parking in tight mall spaces or navigating busy urban centers. Standard ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution ensures reliable stopping power even on sandy or rain-slicked road surfaces, while the Tire Pressure Monitoring System is a vital tool for monitoring heat-related pressure spikes during summer driving.

The bottom line

This Q70 is an ideal match for an executive or frequent traveler who prioritizes the reliability and smooth power of a large-capacity V6 over modern turbo-four alternatives. It represents a significant luxury value for a buyer who appreciates a well-maintained, highway-proven Japanese flagship.
