Summary

This 2018 Infiniti QX80 is a standout in the luxury SUV segment, combining the rugged reliability of a body-on-frame chassis with a truly premium cabin experience. Positioned in the desirable Blue exterior, this model is powered by a high-output 400 hp V8 that delivers smooth, effortless power ideal for both high-speed highway cruising and heavy-duty towing. As an American spec vehicle with moderate mileage for its age, it offers a sophisticated alternative to more common regional rivals while maintaining excellent road presence across the GCC. The QX80 remains a top choice for families who need a genuine seven-seat capacity without sacrificing the luxury of semi-aniline leather and advanced driver-assist technologies.

This Car vs Other 2018 QX80s

With 123,000 km, this vehicle has been driven roughly 15,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the typical 20,000–25,000 km GCC average for full-size SUVs. This lower-than-expected mileage suggests less wear on the heavy-duty suspension and drivetrain, making it a mechanically fresh example of the 2018 model year. While being an American spec car, it offers a highly competitive feature set that often exceeds base regional configurations at a similar price point.

LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE vs Lower Trims

This top-tier trim is a major leap over the base LUXE, adding the Sensory and ProActive packages which include the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system for flatter cornering and a much smoother ride. You also get the upgraded 15-speaker Bose audio system, semi-aniline quilted leather seating, and the full suite of ProActive safety tech like Intelligent Cruise Control and Blind Spot Intervention, features that are highly valued in the GCC for long-distance highway comfort.

QX80 vs Segment Rivals

The QX80 competes directly with the Lexus LX 570 and the Nissan Patrol, offering a more refined and tech-focused interior than the Patrol while being significantly more accessible than the LX 570. Its 3,855 kg towing capacity is among the best in its class, making it superior for hauling boats or trailers compared to many European unibody SUVs. Furthermore, the 5.6L V8 provides a more traditional, linear power delivery that many GCC drivers prefer for desert terrain over smaller turbocharged engines.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 15.1 L/100km, reflecting its status as a powerful V8 built for long-distance cruising rather than city efficiency. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, and with the wide availability of Nissan-derived mechanical parts across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, maintenance is generally more affordable than European luxury rivals. While Infiniti sees higher initial depreciation than Lexus in the GCC, this makes it an exceptional value-for-money purchase on the used market where the bulk of the depreciation has already occurred.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this SUV is its naturally aspirated 5.6-litre V8, producing 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 7.5 seconds—impressive for a vehicle of this size. It features a robust All-Wheel Drive system with a dedicated low-range transfer case, making it fully capable of handling sandy tracks and weekend desert excursions. The Hydraulic Body Motion Control system specifically helps the vehicle remain stable during sudden lane changes on fast-moving UAE highways.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a masterclass in comfort, featuring seven seats with ventilated and heated front rows specifically designed to combat the intense GCC summer heat. The Sensory package adds climate-controlled front seats and an advanced air purification system, ensuring the interior remains cool and fresh even in 45°C+ temperatures. Rear passengers enjoy a dedicated climate zone and the 15-speaker Bose Surround sound system provides a concert-like experience during long cross-border drives.

Safety

This ProActive trim includes a comprehensive safety suite featuring Intelligent Cruise Control, which is ideal for the long stretches between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Standard safety tech also includes Blind Spot Warning and Intervention, Forward Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, and a 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, which makes parking this large SUV in tight city spaces significantly safer and easier.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a high-spec, heavy-duty luxury SUV with lower-than-average mileage, this QX80 LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE represents a sophisticated and value-driven alternative to the mainstream.
