Summary

This 2021 Black Series represents the absolute peak of the first-generation AMG GT line, offering a rare chance to own a low-mileage example of a modern legend. With just 8,000 km, this vehicle has barely begun its life, making it a premier choice for collectors and track enthusiasts in the GCC. The black-on-black specification is a perennially strong resale choice in the region, maintaining a timeless appeal that avoids the depreciation traps of more eccentric launch colors. As the final and most extreme iteration of the platform, its rarity is backed by genuine motorsport hardware that sets it apart from any standard AMG. For the UAE or Saudi buyer, this is a road-legal race car that commands respect at any track day or weekend gathering.

This Car vs Other 2021 AMG GTs

With only 8,000 km on the odometer, this Black Series is a very low-mileage example compared to the 20,000 km annual average typically seen on high-performance cars in the UAE. In the GCC market, low-mileage European specs are highly prized by collectors who value mechanical preservation. The black exterior is a high-demand, high-liquidity color in the local used market, ensuring this car remains a blue-chip asset.

BLACK SERIES vs Lower Trims

The Black Series sits in a different league than the GT R or GT R Pro, featuring the unique M178 LS2 flat-plane crank V8 that revs higher and responds faster. It introduces a massive manually adjustable carbon fiber rear wing and a front splitter with a dedicated 'Race' mode for maximum downforce. Inside, the trim adds exclusive carbon fiber bucket seats and an increased use of Dinamica microfiber to save weight while providing superior grip during high-speed cornering.

AMG GT vs Segment Rivals

The Black Series competes directly with the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and the McLaren 765LT, leading the segment with its front-mid-engine balance and a record-breaking Nürburgring pedigree. Its 75-litre fuel tank provides better touring range for long highway drives between Abu Dhabi and Dubai compared to more compromised track rivals. The aggressive aero package is specifically engineered to keep the car stable during high-velocity runs on the UAE's perfectly paved highways.

Running Costs & Resale

While European spec cars do not carry the local manufacturer warranty, Mercedes-Benz maintains a massive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring expert maintenance is always accessible. The Black Series has shown exceptional value retention globally; in the GCC, limited-run AMGs often depreciate at a significantly lower rate than standard luxury coupes, typically holding 85-90% of their value over the first three years. Owners should budget for 98-octane fuel to maintain the performance of the flat-plane V8.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is a top speed of 325 km/h, supported by 720 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque delivered exclusively to the rear wheels. The reinforced 7-speed dual-clutch transaxle is tuned for lightning-fast shifts that make the car feel incredibly urgent during highway overtaking. For the enthusiast, the nine-stage traction control system allows you to dial in the perfect amount of slip for the region's varying road temperatures and surfaces.

Comfort & Cabin

Despite its track focus, the cabin features a 10.25-inch high-resolution infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster typical of Mercedes-Benz luxury. The dual-zone climate control is robust enough to handle the 45°C+ GCC summer heat, while the acoustic glass helps insulate the interior from external road noise. This specific example features the 4-seat configuration, offering more interior versatility than the strictly 2-seat track packages found in other markets.

Safety

The Black Series comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic in Riyadh or Dubai. It features a high-performance carbon-ceramic braking system as standard, providing fade-free stopping power even in extreme ambient temperatures. The rigid spaceframe construction and full array of airbags, including a driver's knee airbag, offer top-tier protection for all occupants.

The bottom line

This is a rare opportunity to secure the most powerful V8 Mercedes ever made in a high-resale color with collector-grade mileage. It is the perfect acquisition for a GCC buyer who demands a vehicle that is as dominant on the track as it is prestigious on the road.
