Summary

This 2021 E200 Premium represents the highly sought-after W213 facelift, featuring the modern MBUX dual-widescreen cockpit and updated exterior styling. Finished in white, a top-tier color for maintaining resale value in the GCC, this sedan offers a balanced entry into the executive segment with a refined 2.0L turbocharged engine. The Premium trim provides a sophisticated cabin environment far superior to entry-level counterparts, making it a professional choice for both city commuting and inter-emirate travel. For a GCC buyer, this specific model is a standout for its mix of German engineering and proven reliability in local temperatures.

This Car vs Other 2021 E200s

With 119,000 km, this vehicle has been utilized primarily for highway driving, which is typical for executive sedans in the UAE. This mileage reflects a car that has been regularly run rather than sitting idle, which often benefits the M264 engine's long-term health. The white exterior is the most preferred color in the local market, ensuring it stays cooler in summer and holds its value better than darker shades.

PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim upgrades the ownership experience significantly over the base Avantgarde by including the dual 12.3-inch high-resolution displays as standard. It also typically features enhanced ambient lighting and higher-grade interior finishes that GCC buyers prioritize for a true luxury feel. These visual and technical upgrades make the Premium trim much easier to trade or sell in the secondary market compared to lower-spec versions.

E200 vs Segment Rivals

The E200 leads the BMW 520i and Audi A6 40 TFSI in terms of cabin technology, specifically with the intuitive MBUX voice control system. Its 66-litre fuel tank provides a generous cruising range for long drives from Dubai to Riyadh or Muscat. Furthermore, the E-Class is widely regarded in the region for having a more compliant suspension setup, offering superior comfort over the rougher road surfaces sometimes found outside major city centers.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 8.5 to 9.0 L/100km in mixed GCC driving, benefiting from the efficient 9G-Tronic transmission. Service intervals are recommended every 15,000 km or 12 months at authorized centers available across all major GCC cities. The E-Class maintains one of the strongest residual values in the luxury sedan segment, typically depreciating at a slower rate than its European rivals due to high local demand.

Performance & Capability

The 197 hp turbocharged engine is perfectly tuned for smooth highway overtaking and effortless cruising at speed. While it achieves 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, the focus is on the 320 Nm of torque which provides prompt response in stop-start city traffic. The Rear Wheel Drive architecture ensures a classic balanced handling profile, while the selectable drive modes allow you to prioritize fuel efficiency or sharper throttle response as needed.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, you are met with a 5-seat layout featuring power-adjustable seating and a highly effective dual-zone climate control system engineered for the 45°C+ summer heat. The cabin is exceptionally well-insulated, keeping wind and road noise out during high-speed highway travel. With 540 litres of boot space, it offers more cargo capacity than many competitors, easily handling family luggage or golf sets for weekend trips.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and a 360-degree camera system which is invaluable for parking in tight urban spaces. The W213 generation holds a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and features a robust suite of airbags and stability controls. For long desert highway drives, the attention assist and cruise control systems significantly reduce driver fatigue and enhance safety for all passengers.

The bottom line

This E200 Premium is the ideal choice for a professional seeking a modern, facelifted Mercedes-Benz that balances luxury with sensible running costs in the GCC market.
