Summary

This 2018 GLC 300 4MATIC Premium is a standout choice for those seeking European refinement with manageable running costs in the UAE. With a mileage of 68,000 km, it has been driven significantly less than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual GCC average, suggesting well-preserved mechanical health. The Blue exterior provides a refreshing alternative to the standard monochrome fleet while maintaining solid resale appeal for premium European SUVs in the region. Built on a monocoque chassis, it offers a more car-like, comfortable ride compared to body-on-frame rivals, making it ideal for the daily commute between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. For a GCC buyer, the standard 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system ensures superior stability during occasional desert rain or on gravel-strewn weekend routes.

This Car vs Other 2018 GLC 300s

At 68,000 km, this vehicle’s mileage is exceptionally low for a six-year-old car in the GCC, where most 2018 models would typically exceed 120,000 km. The Blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that holds its value well in a market that appreciates distinctive but tasteful luxury finishes. As an American spec, it offers a high standard of cabin technology, though buyers should verify service history with local specialists familiar with North American imports.

E 4MATIC PREMIUM vs Lower Trims

The Premium trim significantly upgrades the ownership experience with keyless entry and blind-spot monitoring, features that are essential for safely navigating fast-moving multi-lane GCC highways. It also adds a higher-tier infotainment experience compared to the base model, often including the touchpad controller and SiriusXM-ready hardware. The 4MATIC system provides permanent all-wheel drive, a major safety advantage over the base rear-wheel-drive version during high-speed highway driving.

GLC 300 vs Segment Rivals

The GLC 300 leads rivals like the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 in interior material quality and cabin quietness, which is a major benefit during long, hot drives across the Emirates. Its 9G-TRONIC transmission is smoother in stop-start Dubai traffic than the dual-clutch systems found in some competitors. Additionally, the GLC provides a more balanced ride-to-handling ratio, prioritizing the comfort required for the region’s long-distance highway travel.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages approximately 10.0 L/100km combined, which is competitive for a premium SUV in GCC conditions. Mercedes-Benz has a massive authorized service network across the UAE, ensuring parts and expert technicians are always accessible. While European luxury SUVs depreciate faster than Japanese workhorses, the GLC 300 remains one of the most liquid models in the pre-owned market due to its high demand among young professionals.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers 241 hp and a robust 370 Nm of torque, enabling a swift 0-100 km/h sprint of 6.4 seconds for confident overtaking on the E11. The 9-speed automatic transmission is optimized for efficiency at cruising speeds, keeping RPMs low during cross-country trips to Oman or Al Ain. Five selectable DYNAMIC SELECT modes allow you to tailor the steering and throttle response to suit either a relaxed commute or a more spirited weekend drive.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed to insulate passengers from the harsh 45°C+ summer heat with powerful dual-zone automatic climate control and high-quality insulation. Power-adjustable front seats with memory allow for instant comfort, while the 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats provide versatile cargo space for family road trips. The interior features premium wood trim and soft-touch materials that remain durable even under the intense GCC sun.

Safety

This GLC 300 is equipped with Mercedes-Benz's full safety suite, including Collision Prevention Assist Plus and a rearview camera as standard. It earned a 5-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA, providing peace of mind for family use. Standard blind-spot monitoring and PRE-SAFE technology are particularly valuable for the high-speed traffic environments typical of Riyadh and Dubai.

The bottom line

Perfect for the professional who wants a low-mileage, high-spec European SUV that balances prestige with daily practicality in the UAE market.
