Summary

This 2021 model represents a distinctive high-performance choice for the GCC buyer, blending the iconic silhouette with the raw character of the 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8 powertrain. Finished in white, the most coveted resale color in the regional market, this SUV stands out for its exceptional value retention and classic AMG aesthetics. While most 2021 models globally transitioned to the 4.0L unit, this specific iteration offers a unique proposition for those who prefer the displacement and sound signature of the earlier hand-built engines. Its All Wheel Drive system and robust construction make it perfectly suited for both the fast-paced highways of the UAE and weekend desert excursions. Ownership in the GCC is supported by a massive network of authorized service centers, ensuring long-term reliability and peace of mind.

This Car vs Other 2021 G63 AMGs

With 85,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has seen consistent use that aligns with the higher average annual mileage typical for the GCC region. While many 2021 models feature the newer 4.0L engine, this 5.5L variant is a rare find for the model year, offering a different performance profile that remains highly sought after by AMG purists. The white exterior is a strategic choice for the local market, as it not only helps deflect the intense summer heat but also ensures the strongest possible resale value when it comes time to upgrade.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the top-tier AMG variant, this trim adds significant performance and luxury hardware over the standard G-Class models, including the signature hand-built V8 engine and the AMG-specific performance exhaust. GCC-essential features like ventilated front seats and a high-fidelity surround sound system come standard, providing comfort during long drives across the Emirates. It also includes the advanced triple-locking differential system as standard, a feature rarely matched by rivals in this segment.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Range Rover SVR or the Lamborghini Urus, the G63 AMG leads in pure off-road utility thanks to its dedicated low-range transfer case and body-on-frame durability. The upright cabin design offers superior headroom and a more commanding driving position, which is particularly valued on busy multi-lane highways in Dubai and Riyadh. Furthermore, the G63 historically maintains a higher percentage of its value in the GCC used market than almost any other luxury performance SUV.

Running Costs & Resale

Fuel consumption for the 5.5L V8 typically averages around 14.0 L/100km, though this will increase in GCC stop-start city traffic. Service intervals are recommended every 10,000 km, and with the extensive Mercedes-Benz authorized network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, specialized maintenance is always accessible. The G-Wagon is legendary for its value retention in the Middle East, often losing significantly less value annually than its European luxury counterparts.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is the 530 hp bi-turbo V8, delivering effortless overtaking power on the highway and immense torque for sandy terrain. The sophisticated All Wheel Drive system is paired with three independent locking differentials, allowing for genuine desert capability that most luxury SUVs cannot emulate. Whether cruising at high speeds between cities or navigating steep dunes, the G63 remains composed and incredibly capable.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC summer, featuring high-capacity climate control and ventilated seating to ensure occupant comfort in 45°C+ temperatures. The five-seat layout provides ample legroom for family trips, while the premium upholstery and acoustic glass keep the interior quiet even at highway speeds. Tech highlights include a digital cockpit and integrated navigation, tailored for seamless long-distance travel across the region.

Safety

Safety is paramount, with a full suite of driver assistance systems including blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, which are vital for fast-moving GCC highway traffic. The vehicle is equipped with multiple airbags and electronic stability programs specifically tuned to handle both paved roads and loose surfaces. Its robust body-on-frame construction provides an inherently high level of passive protection for all five occupants.

The bottom line

For the enthusiast who values the mechanical soul of the 5.5L V8 in a modern 2021 package, this white G63 AMG offers the perfect blend of iconic status and regional resale strength.
