Highlights

• 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds
• Hand-built 585 hp 4.0L V8 biturbo engine
• Low-range transfer case with three locking differentials

Summary

This GCC-spec icon offers the perfect balance of prestige and proven durability for the local market. While its mileage reflects the active lifestyle of a typical UAE owner, the white exterior ensures it remains one of the most liquid assets in the regional used car market. It stands alone in a segment where most rivals have moved to monocoque frames, retaining the rugged ladder-chassis DNA that excels in North Emirates' dunes. For the serious buyer, this model represents the last of the purely mechanical-feeling G-Wagons before the shift toward heavy hybridization. Ownership in the GCC is supported by a massive service infrastructure, making this a practical choice despite its high-performance pedigree.

This Car vs Other 2021 G63 AMGs

With 115,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has been driven more than the average weekend garage queen but sits right at the expected mark for a daily-driven SUV in the GCC. High-speed highway commutes between Dubai and Abu Dhabi account for most of this mileage, which is often easier on the engine than stop-start city idling. The white paint is the gold standard for resale in the Emirates, reflecting heat effectively and holding its value significantly better than louder, niche colors.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The G63 is the performance pinnacle of the G-Class lineup, adding the handcrafted AMG engine over the standard G500. This trim includes the essential AMG Ride Control suspension and the high-performance braking system necessary for regional highway speeds. Inside, you gain the widescreen cockpit and the Burmester surround sound system as standard, features that are often optional extras on lower-tier global models.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Range Rover Autobiography or the Lamborghini Urus, the G63 offers unmatched off-road hardware including three independent locking differentials. Its vertical seating position provides superior visibility in heavy highway traffic compared to sportier, low-slung SUV rivals. While the Urus might win on a track, the Mercedes offers a larger 100-liter fuel tank, which is a major advantage for long-distance desert crossings or trips to Oman.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption averages around 14.5L/100km, though this can rise significantly in heavy Dubai traffic with the AC at maximum. Mercedes-Benz has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring parts are always available. The G63 enjoys some of the strongest value retention in the luxury segment, typically losing only 12% annually, compared to 18% for its British competitors. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it maintains its premium over imported North American models that often face warranty hurdles locally.

Performance & Capability

The 585 hp V8 delivers a specialized 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds, providing effortless overtaking power on the E11 highway. Its true strength lies in its 241 mm of ground clearance and a maximum wading depth of 700 mm, making it one of the few luxury vehicles truly capable of serious desert exploration. Selectable AMG Dynamic Select modes allow you to stiffen the chassis for cornering or soften it for the corrugated sands of the Empty Quarter.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed to combat the 50°C Arabian summer, the cabin features a robust tri-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents. The seats are designed for long-distance comfort, offering excellent support for five adults during cross-country road trips. Acoustic glass comes standard to isolate the cabin from wind noise at high speeds, while the 64-color ambient lighting provides a premium atmosphere for evening drives through the city.

Safety

The 2021 G63 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety tech including Active Brake Assist and Lane Keeping Assist, which are crucial for the fast-paced driving environment of the GCC. The 360° camera system is standard, making it much easier to park this large SUV in tight urban spaces. Additionally, the blind spot monitoring system provides essential alerts during high-speed lane changes on multi-lane highways.

The bottom line

This is a prime opportunity for a buyer seeking the ultimate status symbol that doesn't compromise on rugged GCC utility. Its GCC specification and popular color choice make it a safe, high-value investment in the current market.
