Summary

This 4-year-old Rolls-Royce Cullinan represents an exceptional entry point into the pinnacle of the SUV market, combining a silver exterior—a high-resale favorite in the GCC—with a refined 12-cylinder powertrain. With 47,000 km, the mileage sits comfortably within the expected range for a vehicle of this caliber in the region, where highway travel is frequent. The Cullinan stands alone in its segment, offering a level of vibration-free 'waftability' and road presence that rivals simply cannot replicate. For a GCC buyer, the priority here is the sheer thermal efficiency of its climate systems and the prestige that comes with the 'Architecture of Luxury' platform. It is a car that makes every cross-emirate journey feel shorter than the last.

This Car vs Other 2022 Cullinans

At 47,000 km, this Cullinan has averaged roughly 11,750 km per year, which is significantly lower than the 20,000–25,000 km typically seen in the GCC used market. While it carries European specifications, the silver exterior is a strategic choice for the region, known for its excellent heat-reflective properties and consistently strong resale liquidity in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. This usage profile suggests a car that has been enjoyed primarily for weekend travel rather than daily commuting.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the base trim, the Cullinan still includes features that would be considered top-tier options on any other vehicle, such as the self-leveling air suspension and laser headlights. It skips the harsher, sport-tuned ride of the Black Badge in favor of the signature 'Magic Carpet Ride' which is better suited for long-distance cruising across the Emirates. You still receive the full suite of luxury essentials including the 360-degree camera system and soft-close doors as standard equipment.

Cullinan vs Segment Rivals

While GCC buyers often cross-shop the Bentley Bentayga and Range Rover SV, neither matches the Cullinan's 100-litre fuel tank, which is a major advantage for long stretches between Riyadh and Jeddah or Dubai and Muscat. The Cullinan offers a larger boot and more rear legroom than the Bentayga, focusing on passenger isolation rather than sporty lap times. It is the only choice for those who prioritize the near-silent operation of a V12 over the more audible exhaust notes of V8-powered competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

In GCC stop-start city traffic, expect fuel consumption to hover near 21.9 L/100km, dropping to 10.9 L/100km on the highway. While the car's Condition Based Service (CBS) system may allow for longer intervals, local experts recommend an oil service every 10,000 km to protect the twin-turbo V12 from the extreme summer heat. Authorized service centers are well-established in major cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha. The Cullinan holds value remarkably well for a luxury European SUV, typically seeing lower annual depreciation rates than its ultra-luxury sedan counterparts.

Performance & Capability

Despite its 2.6-tonne curb weight, the 563 hp V12 propels the Cullinan from 0–100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. The All-Wheel Drive system features a dedicated 'Everywhere' mode, designed to manage varied surfaces from gravel to loose sand, making it surprisingly capable for desert-fringe property access. The torque-rich engine provides effortless overtaking power on high-speed highways, with 850 Nm of torque available from as low as 1,600 RPM.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the GCC's 45°C+ summer, featuring a high-capacity air conditioning system and ventilated front seats as standard. The 5-seat configuration provides a massive 600-litre luggage capacity, ideal for family road trips. Acoustic glass and heavy insulation ensure the interior remains a silent bubble, effectively blocking out the ambient noise of fast-moving highway traffic.

Safety

The 2022 Cullinan comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including Adaptive Cruise Control, which is indispensable for the long, straight highways of the region. Night Vision with pedestrian detection adds a layer of safety for rural desert drives after sunset, while the 360-degree camera makes parking this 5.3-meter SUV effortless in tight urban spaces. Stability control systems are specifically calibrated to keep the vehicle level during sudden maneuvers on sand-dusted roads.

The bottom line

This silver 2022 Cullinan is the perfect opportunity for an executive or family looking for the world's most comfortable SUV with mileage that undercuts the regional average. It offers the full Rolls-Royce experience at a price point that has already absorbed the initial steep depreciation curve.
