Summary

This GCC-spec GLE 450 4MATIC offers a balanced entry into the mid-size luxury SUV segment, featuring the refined 3.0-liter inline-six that is highly preferred in the local market over the smaller four-cylinder variants. The grey exterior is a top-performing resale color in the UAE, maintaining its appeal for future trade-ins while hiding desert dust effectively. With mileage reflecting typical inter-emirate highway commuting, this hybrid-assisted SUV delivers smooth power for long drives between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Its combination of a premium German cabin and proven reliability in high-temperature conditions makes it a strategic choice for families. This listing represents a strong opportunity to own a high-trim executive crossover with a fully documented regional history.

This Car vs Other 2021 GLE450s

At 89,304 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 22,000 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with the average annual usage for luxury SUVs in the GCC market. The grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice that significantly aids value retention compared to bolder hues. As a GCC-spec model, it bypasses the common warranty and cooling concerns associated with imported American or European examples.

4MATIC vs Lower Trims

The GLE 450 4MATIC provides a significant upgrade over the GLE 350 by introducing the smoother, more powerful 3.0L turbocharged inline-six engine with EQ Boost. Unlike the base trims, this model comes standard with the fully variable 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and enhanced towing capabilities up to 3,500 kg. GCC buyers will also appreciate the superior cabin insulation and updated MBUX infotainment features that often come better equipped in this six-cylinder configuration.

GLE450 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the BMW X5 or Audi Q7, the GLE 450 leads with its generous 85-liter fuel tank, providing superior range for long-distance desert highway drives. Its MBUX digital cockpit offers a more intuitive interface for local navigation than most rivals, while the 48-volt mild-hybrid system provides a smoother stop-start experience in heavy traffic. The Mercedes-Benz also commands a stronger brand presence and higher resale stability across the wider GCC region.

Running Costs & Resale

The mild-hybrid powertrain achieves approximately 10.4 L/100km combined, offering noticeable savings during urban school runs in stop-start traffic. Authorized service centers are widely available across every major UAE city and the wider GCC, ensuring parts are never in short supply. This model typically depreciates at a rate of 12-15% annually in the local market, holding its value better than its Italian or British competitors.

Performance & Capability

The 362 hp inline-six engine allows for effortless highway overtaking, reaching 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. With a manufacturer-certified towing capacity of 3,500 kg, it is one of the most capable vehicles in its class for hauling boats or trailers to the coast. The fully variable 4MATIC system and selective drive modes provide confidence on gravel tracks and during unpredictable rain showers common in the winter months.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat layout features premium upholstery and a dual 12.3-inch digital display setup that remains clear even in direct sunlight. The GCC-specific air conditioning system is designed to handle 45°C+ temperatures, featuring powerful rear vents to keep all passengers cool. The 630-liter boot space is ample for family shopping trips or weekend luggage, and the cabin is exceptionally quiet thanks to advanced acoustic sealing.

Safety

Standard safety features on this trim include a comprehensive ADAS suite with Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Pre-Safe technology to protect occupants in high-speed highway environments. The 4MATIC system constantly monitors traction to prevent slips on sandy road shoulders, while the seven standard airbags and rigid passenger cell provide a 5-star safety foundation.

The bottom line

This GLE 450 is the ideal fit for a UAE professional or family seeking executive refinement with the peace of mind that comes from a GCC-spec history and a high-demand color profile.
