Summary

This 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS450 is a sophisticated 7-seater that perfectly balances family utility with flagship executive luxury. With its 64,703 km mileage and black exterior, it represents a well-maintained example for the GCC market, where dark tones hold consistent resale appeal. The GLS stands out from rivals like the BMW X7 by offering a more supple air-suspension ride and a tech-forward MBUX cabin that feels like an S-Class on stilts. For a GCC buyer, the standard ventilated seating and quad-zone climate control are essential upgrades for year-round comfort. This model remains a top-tier choice for those who need genuine 7-seat capacity without sacrificing the prestige of the three-pointed star.

This Car vs Other 2021 GLS450s

At 64,703 km, this GLS450 has been driven approximately 13,000 km per year, which is significantly lower than the GCC annual average of 20,000–25,000 km. This lower-than-expected mileage for a five-year-old vehicle suggests a life of careful use, likely primarily within city limits. The black exterior is a high-demand, strong resale color in the local market, ensuring it remains attractive to future buyers across the region.

4MATIC vs Lower Trims

As the flagship SUV configuration, the 4MATIC trim ensures all-wheel-drive stability across varied road surfaces. This specific vehicle comes equipped with the Premium Package features that GCC buyers value most, including ventilated front seats and the high-fidelity Burmester audio system. It also includes the 360-degree camera system and AIRMATIC air suspension as standard, both of which are premium upgrades often missing from entry-level luxury crossovers.

GLS450 vs Segment Rivals

The Mercedes GLS is frequently cross-shopped with the BMW X7 and the Lexus LX. While the Lexus offers body-on-frame durability, the GLS leads the segment in on-road refinement and interior technology, featuring the expansive dual 12.3-inch MBUX displays. Its long wheelbase provides more consistent legroom in the second and third rows than the X7, making it a more practical choice for larger families traveling between emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this powertrain averages approximately 12.5 L/100km, which is efficient for a full-size SUV during long-distance highway cruises between Dubai and Riyadh. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km, supported by an extensive authorized Mercedes-Benz service network across all major GCC cities. The GLS maintains strong value retention in the UAE market, typically seeing lower annual depreciation than its smaller SUV siblings.

Performance & Capability

The 300 hp 6-cylinder engine provides smooth, linear power delivery ideal for confident highway overtaking and effortless cruising. The standard 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and AIRMATIC air suspension allow the vehicle to adapt its height and damping for improved comfort on long desert highway drives. While focused on luxury, its intelligent drive modes and generous ground clearance ensure it handles gravel tracks and weekend escapes with ease.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a genuine 7-seater with a power-folding third row that can comfortably accommodate adults. GCC-specific comfort is prioritized with standard ventilated front seats and a powerful quad-zone climate control system that ensures rapid cabin cooling even in 45-degree summer heat. Interior highlights include customizable 64-color ambient lighting and acoustic glass that keeps the cabin exceptionally quiet at high speeds.

Safety

The 2021 GLS comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and an Automated Parking System. The 360-degree camera is particularly useful for maneuvering this large SUV in tight city parking. Standard Active Brake Assist and Pre-Safe systems provide an extra layer of protection during fast-moving highway traffic common in the GCC region.

The bottom line

For the executive family looking for S-Class luxury with 7-seat practicality, this low-mileage GCC-spec GLS450 is a high-value opportunity in a timeless color combination.
