Summary

This 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC represents a balanced choice for GCC buyers, combining low mileage for its year with the high resale demand typical for grey luxury SUVs in the region. As a full-size seven-seater, it offers a more compliant air suspension and a genuinely usable third row compared to its sportier rivals. With the 3.0-litre mild-hybrid engine, it provides the smooth power needed for high-speed highway cruising across the Emirates while maintaining better efficiency than the V8 alternatives. For the discerning family, this listing provides a nearly-new ownership experience without the immediate depreciation of a showroom purchase.

This Car vs Other 2023 GLS450s

With just over 27,000 km, this GLS has seen significantly lower usage than the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km per year, marking it as a low-mileage example. The grey exterior is a highly sought-after resale color in the UAE and Saudi markets, offering better value retention than bolder shades. While this is an American spec vehicle, its mechanical components are identical to global versions, though buyers should verify service compatibility with local authorized agencies.

4MATIC vs Lower Trims

As the standard configuration for this model year, the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system is paired with a sophisticated 48V mild-hybrid system that adds 21 hp of EQ Boost. This trim includes premium features that GCC buyers value, such as ventilated front seats, a 13-speaker Burmester surround sound system, and a power-folding third row. Unlike base-level luxury SUVs, it also standardizes the 360-degree camera and a panoramic sunroof, essential for both safety in tight parking and cabin ambiance.

GLS450 vs Segment Rivals

The GLS 450 leads the BMW X7 and Audi Q7 in terms of raw interior volume and third-row legroom, making it the preferred choice for large families. While the X7 focuses on a firmer, driver-centric feel, the Mercedes AIRMATIC suspension is tuned for superior isolation from road noise and heat, a distinct advantage on long desert highway stretches. Its 3,500 kg towing capacity also ensures it can easily handle weekend boat or trailer trips.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the turbocharged 6-cylinder averages approximately 11.6 L/100km, which is efficient for a vehicle of this size in stop-start city traffic. Service intervals typically occur every 15,000 km or annually, and while this American spec model lacks a local manufacturer warranty, the UAE has an extensive network of independent specialists capable of maintaining the M256 engine. The GLS maintains a steady depreciation curve of roughly 12-15% annually in the local market, benefiting from the high brand prestige in the GCC.

Performance & Capability

A 0-100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds is remarkably quick for a seven-seat SUV, ensuring confident overtaking on the E11 or E311 highways. The 4MATIC system and adjustable air suspension provide up to 200 mm of ground clearance, allowing for light gravel or sand track exploration during weekend outings. The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is specifically tuned for smooth shifts, maximizing comfort during the long-distance drives common between major GCC cities.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC summers, featuring powerful four-zone automatic climate control and ventilated front seats that quickly combat high external temperatures. The seven-seat layout includes a one-touch power-folding mechanism for the rear rows, easily expanding the luggage area for shopping or travel. Acoustic glass and high-quality insulation keep the interior remarkably quiet, even at high cruising speeds, protecting passengers from the elements.

Safety

This GLS 450 is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and the Pre-Safe system, which are invaluable for fast-moving multi-lane highway traffic. The standard surround-view camera provides a bird's-eye perspective that simplifies maneuvering this large SUV in urban parking structures. Additionally, Crosswind Assist provides extra stability during the high-wind conditions often encountered on open desert roads.

The bottom line

Perfect for the GCC-based family seeking a low-mileage, high-tech luxury SUV that doesn't compromise on third-row space or highway comfort.
