Summary

This 2021 Nissan Patrol LE Platinum represents the high-spec choice for buyers who prioritise long-distance endurance and mechanical durability. While the mileage reflects active use, these V8-powered Y62 units are renowned across the GCC for their ability to comfortably surpass 300,000 km with routine maintenance. The white exterior is the most sought-after colour for resale in the local market, offering excellent thermal reflection during the peak summer months. As a regional icon, this Patrol offers a level of cabin cooling and highway stability that remains the benchmark for large family SUVs. For a GCC buyer, this is a chance to secure the flagship V8 powertrain in its most luxurious trim at a value-driven price point.

This Car vs Other 2021 Patrols

With 247,000 km, this vehicle has been used more extensively than the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual GCC average. However, in this market, high-mileage Patrols are frequently preferred over lower-mileage rivals of different brands due to their superior parts availability and mechanical resilience. The white paintwork ensures it retains the highest possible demand for future resale compared to darker tones.

LE Platinum vs Lower Trims

The LE Platinum trim sits at the top of the range, offering genuine quilted leather upholstery and a premium 13-speaker Bose audio system that lower trims like the Titanium or SE lack. It also features a 360° around-view monitor and a rear-seat entertainment system, which are essential for long family road trips across the Emirates. Additionally, the Platinum adds ventilated front seats, a critical comfort feature for the GCC summer climate.

Patrol vs Segment Rivals

The Nissan Patrol leads rivals like the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in terms of interior passenger volume and highway ride smoothness, thanks to its independent rear suspension. Its massive 140-litre fuel tank provides a significantly longer cruising range for cross-border drives compared to the Ford Expedition. While European rivals offer more tech, the Patrol's cooling system is specifically engineered to maintain sub-zero cabin temperatures in 45°C+ heat.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 5.6L V8 averages around 14.5 L/100km, though this can rise in stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and Nissan's massive service network ensures competitive pricing and parts availability in every GCC country. The Patrol enjoys one of the lowest depreciation rates in the region, typically losing only 8-10% annually compared to 15% for luxury European SUVs.

Performance & Capability

The 400 hp V8 engine delivers a massive 560 Nm of torque, enabling a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg, perfect for hauling boats or trailers. It features a 273 mm ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, making it a formidable desert performer. The All-Mode 4x4 system includes dedicated Sand, Rock, and Snow modes, ensuring effortless transitions from highway cruising to weekend dune bashing.

Comfort & Cabin

Configured as a true 8-seater, the cabin offers generous legroom even in the third row, which features power-folding functionality. The tri-zone climate control system is paired with a cooled centre console box to keep beverages cold during long drives. Acoustic glass and extensive sound dampening ensure the cabin remains quiet even at high cruising speeds on the E11 highway.

Safety

This trim comes equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite including Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Intervention, and Blind Spot Warning. The 360° camera system is particularly useful for navigating tight parking spaces in urban centres. Adaptive Cruise Control and six airbags come standard, providing peace of mind for high-speed highway travel.

The bottom line

For the buyer who needs a bulletproof, full-size family workhorse that can handle both the school run and the deep desert, this high-spec LE Platinum is the most practical way to enter the V8 Patrol lifestyle.
