Summary

This 2021 Nissan Rogue SV offers a compelling balance of modern safety tech and everyday utility, featuring the sought-after ProPILOT Assist system that makes long highway commutes across the Emirates significantly less taxing. As a redesigned model year, it brings a more rugged, squared-off aesthetic that holds its appeal in the local market far better than its predecessors. The Red exterior provides a vibrant alternative to the standard grayscale palette, while the SV trim adds essential comfort features like dual-zone climate control for the intense summer heat. With its proven 2.5L powertrain and widespread parts availability, this is a sensible choice for families seeking a dependable crossover that is easy to maintain anywhere in the GCC.

This Car vs Other 2021 Rogues

While 129,000 km is slightly above the typical annual average for a three-year-old vehicle, it reflects the common high-mileage highway use typical for commuters between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The Red finish is a distinctive choice that stands out in a market dominated by white and silver, often appealing to private buyers looking for a more personal touch. Mechanically, the 2021 model year represents a significant leap in build quality and interior refinement over the previous generation.

SV vs Lower Trims

Moving up to the SV trim from the base S model adds critical features for the GCC climate, including a remote engine start system with intelligent climate control to pre-cool the cabin. You also gain a 360-degree Intelligent Around View Monitor and the ProPILOT Assist suite, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping tech. The interior is further elevated with an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat and upgraded 18-inch alloy wheels.

Rogue vs Segment Rivals

The Rogue leads rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V in standard safety technology, offering Rear Automatic Braking and a 360-degree camera at a trim level where competitors often charge extra. Its rear doors open to nearly 90 degrees, providing easier access for child seats compared to the Hyundai Tucson. Furthermore, the Rogue's 'Divide-N-Hide' cargo system offers superior organizational flexibility for grocery runs and weekend gear.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.5L engine is optimized for efficiency, delivering approximately 8.4 L/100km on the highway, making it an economical choice for long-distance GCC driving. Nissan maintains one of the most comprehensive service networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring that parts are affordable and specialized labor is always nearby. As a redesigned model, the 2021 Rogue enjoys better value retention than older generations, typically depreciating at a stable 10-12% annually in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 181 hp 2.5L engine is paired with a refined Xtronic CVT that features dedicated Sport and Eco modes, allowing you to tailor the drive for highway overtaking or city efficiency. The All-Wheel Drive system includes selectable Snow and Off-Road modes, providing extra confidence when navigating gravel tracks or rain-slicked roads during the winter months. With 245 Nm of torque, it offers sufficient low-end pull for a full family of five and their luggage.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is designed for GCC summers, featuring a powerful dual-zone automatic climate control system and rear air vents to ensure all passengers stay cool. The SV trim includes premium cloth seating that stays cooler to the touch than leather after being parked in the sun. Acoustic glass and improved insulation help isolate the interior from road noise during high-speed highway cruising, while the 8-inch NissanConnect touchscreen provides seamless integration for navigation.

Safety

Safety is a primary strength of the Rogue SV, featuring Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard. This includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, which are invaluable in fast-moving multi-lane traffic. The addition of ProPILOT Assist provides a semi-autonomous driving experience on the highway, helping to maintain lane position and distance from the car ahead automatically.

The bottom line

Perfect for the tech-conscious family driver, this Rogue SV provides high-end safety features and GCC-essential cooling at a price point that avoids the steep depreciation of new models.
