Summary

This 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup 70 SC is a standout find in the GCC market, combining the legendary '70 series' durability with an exceptionally low mileage of just 1,700 km. While most single-cab workhorses of this age have been subjected to heavy commercial use, this example remains in near-showroom condition, offering a significant advantage in both mechanical longevity and resale value. The black exterior is a sophisticated choice for this model, holding strong appeal for enthusiast buyers who value a more premium look on a rugged chassis. Powered by the nearly bulletproof 4.0L V6 petrol engine, it is perfectly suited for the extreme heat and demanding terrain of the region. For the buyer seeking the ultimate blend of utility and reliability without the typical wear of a five-year-old vehicle, this listing represents a rare opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2021 Land Cruiser Pickup 70s

With only 1,700 km on the odometer, this vehicle has covered a tiny fraction of the 100,000 km to 125,000 km typically expected for a car of this age in the UAE and wider GCC. This ultra-low mileage makes it one of the freshest examples of the 2021 model year currently available. The black paintwork is a highly desirable resale color, often commanding a quicker sale compared to standard commercial white.

SC vs Lower Trims

The SC (Single Cab) trim provides the maximum bed length and payload capacity available in the 70 series lineup. Compared to base-spec utility versions, this trim often includes comfort-oriented features like power windows and a more refined cabin finish that GCC buyers prioritize for dual-use work and leisure. It retains the heavy-duty cooling system and reinforced frame that are essential for long-term reliability in local desert conditions.

Land Cruiser Pickup 70 vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Nissan Patrol Pickup or the Isuzu D-Max, the Land Cruiser 70 leads with its unmatched historical value retention and a more robust body-on-frame construction. Its 4.0L V6 is simpler to maintain than modern turbocharged competitors, making it the preferred choice for those traveling into remote areas where mechanical simplicity is a safety feature. The sheer availability of parts across every corner of the GCC gives it a decisive edge in long-term ownership.

Running Costs & Resale

The 4.0L V6 petrol engine is designed for durability over outright efficiency, reflecting the stop-start nature of GCC city traffic and the high-load demands of sand driving. Toyota enjoys the strongest resale value of any brand in the region, with the 70 series specifically depreciating at a much slower rate than more tech-heavy SUVs. Authorized service centers are omnipresent from Dubai to Riyadh, ensuring that maintenance is never a logistical challenge, with standard 5,000 km or 10,000 km intervals.

Performance & Capability

The 228 hp V6 engine provides linear power delivery that is ideal for highway overtaking and navigating soft dunes. With a massive 3,500 kg braked towing capacity and a 235 mm ground clearance, it is engineered to clear obstacles that would stop most modern crossovers. The manual transmission and All Wheel Drive system with a low-range transfer case offer the driver total control over the vehicle's torque, a critical factor for successful off-road recovery and heavy hauling.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the three-seat configuration provides a practical layout for a work crew or a weekend trip. The air conditioning system is famously powerful, designed to drop cabin temperatures rapidly even after the vehicle has been parked in 45°C sunlight. Durable materials are used throughout to resist the fine sand and dust common in the region, while the elevated driving position offers excellent visibility for both technical off-roading and navigating multi-lane highways.

Safety

This trim includes essential safety features such as dual front airbags and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). The body-on-frame construction provides a rigid safety cell, while the inclusion of Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) helps maintain traction on loose gravel and sand surfaces. These systems are particularly valuable on the fast-moving desert highways where stability at speed is paramount.

The bottom line

Perfect for the enthusiast or business owner who demands a brand-new experience from a proven icon, this low-mileage 2021 model is a rare 'time capsule' buy in the GCC market.
