Summary

This 2022 Audi RS3 Sedan represents a sharp opportunity to own one of the most charismatic performance cars in the GCC, especially with the iconic five-cylinder engine that sets it apart from four-cylinder rivals. With mileage that reflects active use but remains well within the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for the region, it has been mechanically seasoned for local highway conditions. The Red exterior is a bold choice that holds strong enthusiast appeal, ensuring it stands out in a market often dominated by monochrome tones. As a GCC-spec model, it benefits from a cooling system and interior materials designed to withstand extreme summer heat, offering peace of mind that imports cannot match. For a buyer looking for a daily driver that can dominate a weekend track session at Yas Marina, this RS3 is the definitive choice.

This Car vs Other 2022 RS3s

With just under 70,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is consistent with the higher annual driving distances typical of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It shows the hallmark of a car that has spent its life on well-maintained highways rather than sitting idle, which is often better for the complex seals of the 2.5 TFSI engine. The Red paint is a high-visibility, high-demand color for the RS sub-brand in the local market, aiding its future resale value among enthusiasts.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The RS3 sits at the top of the A3 hierarchy, adding the revolutionary RS Torque Splitter which allows for controlled drifts and vastly improved cornering agility compared to the S3. This trim includes the RS-specific Virtual Cockpit with 'Runway' tachometer and flared front wheel arches that accommodate a wider track for superior high-speed stability. Unlike the base models, you also get the signature oval RS exhaust tips and a more aggressive aero package standard.

RS3 vs Segment Rivals

While the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S offers slightly more peak power from a four-cylinder, the RS3 leads with its unique 1-2-4-5-3 firing order and legendary engine character that rivals cannot replicate. Its quattro all-wheel-drive system is specifically tuned for the high-grip surfaces found in the UAE, providing more predictable launches than the BMW M240i. The Audi also offers a more cohesive digital interior experience, featuring the highly intuitive MMI touch interface that is easier to use during fast-paced highway commutes.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the RS3 in the GCC typically ranges from 8.5L/100km on long highway stretches between emirates to 12L/100km in stop-start city traffic. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it is supported by the extensive Al Nabooda and Ali & Sons service network in the UAE, ensuring parts are readily available. The RS3 historically retains its value better than standard A3 models due to the 'five-cylinder tax'—a premium enthusiast buyers are willing to pay—resulting in lower-than-average depreciation for its segment.

Performance & Capability

The standout figure is the 3.8-second 0–100 km/h sprint, enabled by a sophisticated launch control system and 500 Nm of torque. Its 2.5-liter engine is a multi-time 'International Engine of the Year' winner, providing effortless overtaking power for the 140 km/h speed limits on the E11. The RS Torque Splitter ensures that power is shifted to the outside rear wheel during cornering, virtually eliminating understeer for a sharp, mid-engine-like feel.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, you are met with Nappa leather sports seats featuring honeycomb stitching that remain comfortable even during long cross-border drives. The three-zone automatic climate control is exceptionally powerful, a necessity for maintaining a 22°C cabin when outside temperatures exceed 45°C. Sound insulation is excellent for a performance sedan, though the sport exhaust is tuned to allow just enough of the five-cylinder's unique growl into the cabin when in Dynamic mode.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive with Audi's Pre-Sense suite standard, including forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking which are vital for fast-moving GCC traffic. This RS3 also features lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control, significantly reducing driver fatigue on long desert highway stretches. The LED Matrix headlights provide superior visibility during night drives on unlit rural roads, ensuring obstacles are identified well in advance.

The bottom line

This is the perfect match for the enthusiast who needs a civilized daily commuter that can instantly transform into a supercar-slayer; its GCC status and iconic engine make it a secure investment in performance.
