Summary

This 2022 Audi RSQ8 represents the absolute peak of the German manufacturer’s SUV engineering, blending supercar-level performance with daily practicality that excels in the GCC climate. With its mild-hybrid V8 powertrain delivering 600 hp, it offers a level of mechanical sophistication that few rivals can match, making it a standout choice for those who demand both speed and a refined executive presence. The low mileage on this specific unit makes it a highly attractive proposition compared to the typical highway-heavy usage found in the UAE market. While finished in a sophisticated Grey that holds its value well among premium buyers in Dubai and Riyadh, its European specification provides a high-tier interior finish that feels truly bespoke. For a buyer looking for a vehicle that can transition from a high-speed inter-emirate cruiser to a comfortable family transport without skipping a beat, this is the most capable variant in the Audi stable. Owning an RS model in the GCC is a statement of performance intent, and this specific example is positioned as a prime opportunity for those looking to skip the initial steep depreciation of a brand-new model while still enjoying a nearly new experience.

This Car vs Other 2022 RSQ8s

When looking at the 2022 market in the GCC, this specific RSQ8 stands out primarily due to its mileage of 31,000 km, which is significantly lower than the regional average of 20,000 to 25,000 km per year. While many performance SUVs in this category are used for daily commutes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, this vehicle has clearly been kept as a secondary or weekend car, preserving its mechanical integrity and interior freshness. The Grey exterior is a highly sought-after shade in the secondary market here, offering a subtle yet aggressive look that avoids the heat-soak issues of darker blacks while maintaining better resale liquidity than niche colors. As a European spec vehicle, it often features interior material configurations and tech packages that were prioritized for the home market, providing a unique cabin feel compared to standard local imports. For a discerning buyer, this unit represents a balanced middle ground between a high-mileage daily driver and an overpriced showroom-floor alternative.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

Choosing the RSQ8 ‘Standard’ trim is a bit of a misnomer, as this represents the absolute top-tier performance flagship of the Q8 family, sitting far above the S-Line or the SQ8. Unlike lower models that utilize V6 engines or less powerful V8s, the RSQ8 adds a specialized RS-tuned adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering that are critical for navigating tight urban parking in the GCC and maintaining stability at high speeds on the E11. You also gain the distinctive RS-specific bodywork, including the widened wheel arches and the signature oval exhaust tips that command immediate respect on the road. Inside, this trim replaces standard seating with RS-sport seats featuring honeycomb stitching and integrated ventilation, a feature that becomes a daily necessity during the intense summer months in the Middle East. The inclusion of the Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System as a standard feature on this trim level ensures a concert-like experience that lower-tier trims simply cannot replicate without expensive options.

RSQ8 vs Segment Rivals

The Audi RSQ8 is frequently cross-shopped with the Lamborghini Urus and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, with which it shares its high-performance chassis and engine architecture. In the GCC context, the RSQ8 leads its rivals by offering a more understated 'stealth' luxury aesthetic while providing nearly identical performance figures to the more expensive Urus. It offers superior daily usability and cabin insulation, making it a better choice for long-distance cruising across the UAE or into Oman where road noise reduction is paramount. While the BMW X6 M is a direct competitor in terms of power, the RSQ8 provides a more comfortable ride quality thanks to its sophisticated air suspension system which handles the varied road surfaces of the region with greater poise. Furthermore, the Audi’s MMI touch response system is often cited by local drivers as being more intuitive for navigating high-traffic city environments compared to the infotainment setups found in British luxury SUV rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

Maintaining a high-performance hybrid V8 in the GCC requires a commitment to quality, but the RSQ8 is remarkably efficient for its class thanks to its 48V mild-hybrid system which assists during stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai. Real-world fuel consumption remains manageable on long highway stretches, though aggressive city driving will naturally see higher figures reflective of its 600 hp output. Service intervals are typically every 15,000 km or once a year, and Audi has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, ensuring that parts and expertise are never far away. As a European spec vehicle, it is important to ensure service history is documented through reputable specialist centers if the factory warranty has transitioned, though parts commonality with other high-end VW Group products ensures good availability. In terms of resale, the RSQ8 holds its value better than almost any other luxury SUV in its price bracket, typically seeing a depreciation of 12-15% annually compared to the steeper 20% seen in more niche luxury brands.

Performance & Capability

The headline figure is the 3.8-second 0-100 km/h sprint, a number that puts many dedicated sports cars to shame and makes highway merging in fast-moving GCC traffic effortless. The 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine produces a massive 800 Nm of torque, providing relentless pulling power that is perfectly suited for high-speed inter-city travel. Audi’s legendary Quattro all-wheel-drive system ensures maximum traction even on sun-baked asphalt or during the occasional heavy desert rainstorm where road surfaces can become slick. The inclusion of all-wheel steering allows this large SUV to feel much smaller than it is, providing a turning circle that makes navigating tight mall parking structures surprisingly easy. While primarily a road-focused beast, the adjustable ride height allows for enough ground clearance to handle gravel paths or sandy transitions during weekend trips to the outskirts of the city. Seven distinct driving modes, including two customizable RS-specific settings, allow the driver to transform the car from a quiet cruiser into a track-ready weapon at the touch of a button.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the RSQ8 offers a five-seat layout that prioritizes shoulder room and legroom, ensuring that even three adults can sit comfortably in the rear for long journeys across the emirates. The cabin is a sanctuary of high-tech luxury, featuring the Audi Virtual Cockpit with RS-specific displays that keep the driver informed without distraction. For the GCC climate, the four-zone climate control system is exceptionally powerful, capable of cooling the large cabin in minutes even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. The seats are both heated and ventilated, providing essential comfort during the peak of summer, while the extensive use of Alcantara and premium leather creates an atmosphere of refined performance. Acoustic glazing on the side windows ensures that the roar of the V8 is heard only when you want it to be, keeping the cabin peaceful during quiet evening drives. The 605-liter boot space is among the most practical in the performance coupe-SUV segment, easily accommodating golf clubs, luxury shopping, or luggage for a family weekend away.

Safety

Safety in the RSQ8 is comprehensive, backed by a 5-Star NCAP rating and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that are particularly useful on the high-speed highways of the GCC. Standard features include adaptive cruise control with lane-keep assist, which significantly reduces driver fatigue during the long, straight drives between major cities. The 360-degree camera system with 3D visualization is a vital tool for protecting the expensive alloy wheels and bodywork when maneuvering in tight spaces. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert provide an extra layer of security in the fast-paced, multi-lane traffic environments of Riyadh or Dubai. Additionally, the RS-ceramic braking system (if equipped) or the high-performance steel brakes provide immense stopping power, essential for a vehicle of this weight and speed capability. Every aspect of the car’s safety tech is designed to intervene subtly, ensuring that the driver remains in control while being protected by the latest in automotive protective technology.

The bottom line

This 2022 Audi RSQ8 is the perfect match for the enthusiast who needs the utility of an SUV but refuses to sacrifice the soul of a supercar. With low mileage and a high-demand color profile, it represents one of the most sensible ways to enter the ultra-high-performance SUV market in the GCC today.
