Summary

This 2022 Bentley Bentayga offers a compelling entry into ultra-luxury SUV ownership, featuring a potent twin-turbo V8 that delivers 542 hp. With four years of age and 70,000 km, this vehicle sits at a significant value point in the GCC market, having moved past the steepest part of its initial depreciation curve. The blue exterior is a sophisticated choice that maintains strong appeal in the secondary market across the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. As Bentley's best-selling model, it balances high-fashion presence with the rugged versatility required for long-distance GCC highway cruising. For a buyer seeking the ultimate blend of British craftsmanship and daily usability, this American-spec example represents a refined alternative to a new high-end commuter SUV.

This Car vs Other 2022 Bentley Bentaygas

At 70,000 km, this Bentayga has been driven roughly 17,500 km per year, which is below the typical 20,000–25,000 km annual average for luxury SUVs in the GCC. This lower-than-average usage for a four-year-old vehicle suggests it has spent less time on long cross-border commutes, preserving the interior and mechanical components. The blue paintwork is a durable and sought-after choice locally, often holding value better than more niche experimental shades.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

The V8 'Standard' trim serves as the performance benchmark for the range, offering a more engaging and lighter driving experience than the heavy Hybrid model. It includes critical GCC features as standard, such as an advanced air suspension system and a 10.9-inch high-resolution infotainment screen with full smartphone integration. Buyers also benefit from the signature 4.0L twin-turbocharged engine that provides the classic Bentley 'burble' not found in the V6 alternatives.

Bentayga vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan or Lamborghini Urus, the Bentayga offers a more discreet and versatile profile that transitions perfectly from professional urban environments to weekend family trips. It features a larger fuel tank than many competitors, providing a significant range advantage for the long desert stretches between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. Its cabin insulation and HVAC systems are specifically engineered to maintain a silent, cool environment even when external temperatures exceed 45°C.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the twin-turbo V8 averages around 13.0 L/100km on a combined cycle, though GCC highway driving can yield better efficiency. Bentley maintains an excellent authorized service network through Al Habtoor in the UAE and Samaco in Saudi Arabia, ensuring specialized care is always accessible. While luxury depreciation is standard in this segment, the Bentayga maintains a firmer residual value than its saloon counterparts, typically retaining more value at the three-to-five-year mark due to high SUV demand in the region.

Performance & Capability

The 542 hp V8 engine propels this large SUV from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, offering sports-car acceleration with the poise of a luxury cruiser. The All-Wheel Drive system and selectable drive modes provide confidence on varied surfaces, from rain-slicked city streets to gravel access roads. Its top speed of 290 km/h ensures effortless highway overtaking and stable high-speed cruising across the Emirates' well-maintained road network.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is a showcase of handcrafted leather and premium veneers, designed to isolate passengers from the harsh outside environment. Multi-zone climate control ensures that even in the height of summer, every passenger stays comfortable with dedicated rear venting. The 484-litre boot provides ample space for luxury shopping trips or family luggage, while the acoustic glass keeps the interior whisper-quiet at highway speeds.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes a comprehensive ADAS suite with blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assist, which are essential for navigating fast-moving multi-lane traffic in Dubai and Riyadh. The vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree camera system to assist in parking its substantial frame, alongside stability control systems tuned for high-speed safety on sandy or dusty road surfaces.

The bottom line

This 2022 Bentayga is ideal for the executive who demands supercar performance in a daily-driver format, offering a high-spec British interior at a competitive mid-lifecycle price point.
