Summary

This 2022 BMW 730Li M Sport offers a sophisticated balance of executive presence and efficient performance, ideal for both daily city commuting and smooth highway journeys. With 75,000 km over four years, this sedan has been driven within the expected range for luxury vehicles in the GCC, ensuring it remains mechanically sound for its next owner. The Black-on-Black color combination is a premier choice in the local market, offering excellent resale strength and a timeless aesthetic. For those looking for the prestige of a flagship 7 Series with lower running costs than a V8, this M Sport trim provides the perfect middle ground of style and practicality. The rear-wheel-drive dynamics and refined air suspension make it a class-leading choice for comfort in the UAE's fast-moving traffic.

This Car vs Other 2022 730Lis

With 75,000 km on the odometer, this vehicle has averaged roughly 18,750 km per year, which is comfortably below the 20,000–25,000 km GCC average for executive sedans. The Black exterior is one of the most sought-after colors in the UAE and wider GCC market, directly supporting stronger value retention. Finding a 2022 model with this specific M Sport configuration ensures the latest pre-facelift aesthetic refinements and updated iDrive technology.

M SPORT vs Lower Trims

The M Sport trim significantly upgrades the 730Li's visual and functional appeal, adding 19-inch M Double-spoke wheels and the high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim that replaces standard chrome for a more aggressive look. Inside, you gain the M leather steering wheel and unique M-specific door sills, along with the high-fidelity 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Most importantly for the GCC climate, this trim often includes the 360° surround-view camera system as standard, making parking this extended-wheelbase sedan effortless.

730Li vs Segment Rivals

While cross-shopped with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8, the 730Li leads the segment in providing a driver-centric experience even in its entry-level powertrain. The 4-cylinder turbocharged engine offers a weight advantage that makes the front end feel more agile than the heavier S-Class equivalents. Additionally, BMW's air suspension system is frequently noted for its superior ability to iron out road imperfections during long drives between the Emirates.

Running Costs & Resale

The 2.0L turbocharged engine is remarkably efficient for a car of this size, achieving roughly 6.2 L/100km on long highway stretches, making it a cost-effective choice for frequent inter-city travel. Service intervals in the GCC are managed by the Condition Based Service (CBS) system, typically occurring every 12,000 to 15,000 km at authorized centers across the region. While European luxury sedans face higher initial depreciation, the 730Li M Sport remains a stable asset in the UAE used market due to high demand for its fuel efficiency and prestigious badge.

Performance & Capability

The 265 hp output allows this executive sedan to reach 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, providing ample power for merging onto fast highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The 8-speed automatic transmission is tuned for seamless shifts, ensuring that rear-seat passengers remain undisturbed during acceleration. Despite its large footprint, the rear-wheel-drive layout provides a tight turning circle for its class, which is highly beneficial for navigating tight parking structures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of Dakota leather and high-grade wood finishes, featuring four-zone automatic climate control that handles extreme GCC summer temperatures with ease. The long-wheelbase (Li) configuration provides exceptional rear legroom, catering to those who prefer to be chauffeured or require maximum family space. Acoustic glazing and thick insulation keep the cabin pin-drop quiet, even at cruising speeds of 140 km/h.

Safety

Standard safety tech on this M Sport trim includes BMW’s Active Guard with forward collision warning and automated emergency braking. The full ADAS suite provides lane departure warning and blind-spot monitoring, which are essential for navigating multi-lane highway traffic. The 360-degree camera system and parking sensors provide total visibility, ensuring the vehicle's long body is protected in tight urban environments.

The bottom line

This 2022 730Li M Sport is the ideal choice for a professional seeking the presence of a flagship BMW with the sensible running costs of a 4-cylinder engine, all wrapped in a high-resale Black-on-Black package.
