Summary

This 2021 BMW 730Li M Sport represents a highly strategic choice for the UAE executive, offering the prestige of a flagship long-wheelbase sedan with the improved fuel efficiency of a modern 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. At 5 years old and with 106,000 km, its mileage reflects a typical life as a well-maintained highway commuter between emirates, ensuring the mechanical components have been properly exercised. The M Sport trim is particularly desirable in the GCC used market, as its aggressive styling and aerodynamic kit significantly broaden its appeal compared to the standard chrome-heavy variants. Finished in white, it occupies the strongest resale color category in the region, ensuring better value retention when it's time to upgrade. For the local buyer, the combination of rear-seat legroom and manageable running costs makes this one of the most logical entries into the luxury segment.

This Car vs Other 2021 730Lis

With 106,000 km, this vehicle's mileage is exactly in line with the GCC average of 20,000–25,000 km per year, suggesting it has been used primarily for long-distance highway travel rather than punishing stop-start city commutes. The white exterior is a major advantage in the local market, as it not only helps with cabin temperature management but also represents the highest demand color for resale in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Choosing this GCC-spec model ensures full compatibility with local authorized service centers and specialized cooling systems designed for the extreme desert heat.

M SPORT vs Lower Trims

The M Sport trim adds significant value over the base 730Li by replacing standard styling with a more aggressive M Aerodynamics package, shadowline exterior trim, and unique M-design wheels. Inside, you benefit from a dedicated M leather steering wheel and anthracite headliner, creating a much sportier executive environment. Crucially for GCC buyers, this trim level often includes upgraded 20-way multi-contour seats and standard Surround View 360-degree cameras, which are essential for navigating a large-platform sedan through tight urban parking.

730Li vs Segment Rivals

The BMW 730Li competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8, standing out by offering a more engaging driving experience through its rear-wheel-drive chassis and 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Its long-wheelbase configuration provides superior rear legroom compared to standard-wheelbase rivals, making it ideal for those who occasionally prefer to be chauffeured. Additionally, the 2.0-liter turbocharged powertrain offers a more accessible entry point to flagship luxury with lower annual registration and insurance costs than the V8 alternatives often found in this segment.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for this 2.0L engine is remarkably efficient for its class, averaging approximately 7–11 L/100km depending on how much time is spent on fast-moving highways versus heavy city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are managed by BMW’s Condition Based Service (CBS) system, typically triggering every 10,000 to 12,000 km, with an extensive authorized service network available across all major GCC cities. While European luxury sedans typically depreciate by 12–18% annually in the region, the M Sport trim and white color choice act as a buffer, maintaining higher desirability in the secondary market.

Performance & Capability

Despite its executive size, the 730Li reaches 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, providing plenty of power for confident overtaking on the E11 or other major GCC highways. The turbocharged engine delivers a surprising 400 Nm of torque from low in the rev range, ensuring smooth and effortless acceleration away from traffic lights. With a 78-liter fuel tank, this model is built for long-distance desert crossings, offering a substantial range that reduces the frequency of stops during cross-border trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary from the heat, featuring a high-performance multi-zone climate control system with dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers stay cool during the peak summer months. The long-wheelbase layout prioritizes rear-seat comfort, providing enough space for executives to work or relax in total isolation thanks to acoustic glass and extensive soundproofing. The standard 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system provides concert-quality audio that effectively masks road noise during high-speed highway cruising.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive, featuring a suite of ADAS technologies including Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation. The standard 360-degree Surround View camera system and Parking Assistant Plus are vital for a vehicle of this length in busy metropolitan areas. Protection is further enhanced by eight airbags and a reinforced carbon-core structure that provides exceptional rigidity and passenger security.

The bottom line

This 730Li M Sport is the ideal match for a professional who requires the presence and comfort of a BMW flagship with the sensible running costs of a modern 4-cylinder engine. As a GCC-spec car in the region’s best resale color, it offers a secure and prestigious ownership experience in the UAE market.
