Summary

This 2022 Changan CS95 Platinum is a compelling choice for families seeking a full-size SUV that balances premium features with exceptional value. Its Grey exterior is a sophisticated choice for the GCC market, offering a neutral tone that maintains strong resale appeal across the region. As the high-spec Platinum trim, this model adds key comforts like ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera that are essential for the GCC's climate and urban driving. This specific unit represents the peak of Changan's luxury SUV lineup, offering 7-seat versatility and all-wheel drive for a fraction of the cost of legacy rivals. For a GCC buyer, the combination of relatively low age and a high-spec feature set makes this a standout opportunity in the used market.

This Car vs Other 2022 CS95s

With 115,000 km over 4 years, this CS95 has been driven approximately 28,750 km annually, which is slightly above the typical GCC average for family SUVs but consistent with long-distance highway commutes. The Platinum trim ensures it carries a higher residual value than the entry-level Classic models due to its superior tech and comfort features. The Grey exterior is a highly desirable resale color in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, favored for its ability to hide desert dust and retain a premium look.

PLATINUM vs Lower Trims

The Platinum trim is a significant upgrade over the base Classic, most notably adding the intelligent All-Wheel Drive system for better stability on sand and gravel surfaces. Inside, it introduces ventilated and massaging front seats, which are transformative during GCC summers, and a premium 10-speaker audio system. Safety is also enhanced with the inclusion of a 360-degree panoramic camera and a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that are not standard on lower-tier variants.

CS95 vs Segment Rivals

The CS95 primarily competes with the MG RX8 and Haval H9, where it leads in on-road refinement and cabin technology. While body-on-frame rivals offer more rugged off-road hardware, the CS95 provides a more car-like ride quality and a more advanced 12.3-inch infotainment interface. Its 2.0L turbocharged engine delivers competitive highway overtaking power while being significantly more fuel-efficient for daily city driving than the older V6 or V8 engines found in larger segment competitors.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the CS95 averages around 9.8L/100km, which is efficient for a 7-seater SUV in stop-start traffic in cities like Dubai or Riyadh. Changan has established a robust authorized service network across the UAE and the wider GCC, ensuring that spare parts and specialized maintenance are readily available. While Chinese brands typically see an annual depreciation of 12-15%, the Platinum trim holds its value better as second-hand buyers specifically look for the high-end features included in this spec.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0L Bluecore turbocharged engine produces a stout 233 hp and 360 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 9.8 seconds. The Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission is tuned for smooth highway cruising, making it ideal for the long inter-city drives common in the Emirates. Equipped with a BorgWarner intelligent AWD system and Hill Descent Control, it handles light desert excursions and wet roads with confidence.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a true 7-seater with multi-zone climate control and dedicated rear vents to ensure all passengers remain cool in 45°C+ heat. The Platinum trim features perforated leather seats with integrated cooling and massage functions for the driver, a massive panoramic sunroof, and 64-color ambient lighting. With the rear seats folded, the CS95 offers one of the largest cargo capacities in its price bracket, perfect for family camping trips or cross-border travel.

Safety

Standard safety on the Platinum trim is comprehensive, featuring six airbags and a 360-degree high-definition camera system for easier parking in tight city spots. It includes Changan's full ADAS suite, featuring Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop/Go, Lane Departure Warning, and Front Collision Warning. These systems are particularly beneficial on high-speed GCC highways, providing an extra layer of protection during long-distance travel.

The bottom line

For the family buyer who wants modern luxury and 7-seat practicality without the premium price of a Japanese brand, this high-spec 2022 Platinum trim is the smartest value play on the market today.
