Summary

This 2022 Ford Taurus Trend is a highly practical choice for GCC drivers who prioritize interior volume and highway composure. With its brown exterior—a shade that masks desert dust effectively—and GCC-specific cooling systems, it is well-suited for regional temperatures. As a Trend trim, it provides a meaningful jump in comfort over the base model, offering the better balance of features for daily use. This model stands out for its large-car presence and efficient turbocharged power, making it a competitive alternative to Japanese rivals. For a buyer seeking a modern, tech-forward sedan with ample passenger space, this listing represents a solid opportunity in the pre-owned market.

This Car vs Other 2022 Ford Tauruses

With just over 104,000 km, this Taurus sits at the higher end of average mileage for a 2022 model in the GCC, reflecting the long-distance highway duty these sedans typically perform. While mileage is consistent with regional commuting patterns, the GCC specification ensures the drivetrain and cooling systems are optimized for local heat. The brown exterior is a practical choice for the region, maintaining its visual appeal better than darker colors in dusty conditions.

TREND vs Lower Trims

The Trend trim offers essential upgrades that GCC buyers value, most notably replacing the basic air conditioning with a dual-zone automatic system for better climate management. It also upgrades the cabin from standard fabric to easy-to-clean vinyl upholstery and adds an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat. These additions, along with the inclusion of a rear-view camera and parking sensors, make it a more convenient daily driver than the base Ambiente.

Taurus vs Segment Rivals

The Ford Taurus competes directly with the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima, leading the segment in terms of absolute cabin length and rear-seat legroom. Its 520-litre boot is one of the largest in its class, providing significantly more utility than many compact-executive rivals. While rivals focus on naturally aspirated engines, the Taurus uses EcoBoost technology to deliver higher torque for easier highway overtaking.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for the 2.0L EcoBoost typically averages around 7.5 L/100km on GCC highways, though this increases in stop-start city traffic. Ford has an extensive authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with standard service intervals every 10,000 km. The Taurus maintains a predictable depreciation curve, typically retaining approximately 60% of its value after three years in the local market, supported by strong demand for large American-branded sedans.

Performance & Capability

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 232 hp and a robust 388 Nm of torque, allowing for smooth acceleration and confident high-speed cruising on regional motorways. Power is delivered to the front wheels via a refined 8-speed automatic transmission that helps maintain efficiency during long-distance drives. Selectable drive modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—allow the driver to calibrate the steering and throttle response based on road conditions.

Comfort & Cabin

Designed with a 2,930 mm wheelbase, the interior offers class-leading legroom that comfortably accommodates five adult passengers. The Trend trim focuses on GCC summer comfort with dedicated rear AC vents and a dual-zone system that ensures rapid cabin cooling even in extreme heat. Acoustic glass and extensive sound-deadening materials help isolate the cabin from road and wind noise during highway travel between emirates.

Safety

This Taurus is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite including six airbags and the Ford Co-Pilot360 platform as standard. Active features include Blind Spot Monitoring, which is vital for multi-lane GCC highways, along with Lane Departure Warning and Pre-Collision Assist with autonomous braking. Stability and traction control systems are standard, providing essential grip on the sandy or dusty surfaces often encountered in the region.

The bottom line

Perfect for families or professionals who require a spacious, highway-ready sedan, this GCC-spec Taurus Trend offers a modern driving experience with the essential tech and cooling upgrades needed for the local climate.
