Summary

This 2022 Honda Accord LX is an ideal choice for UAE commuters, offering a balance of modern tech and legendary reliability. With 68,000 km, it sits comfortably within the expected mileage for a three-year-old GCC vehicle, especially given the long-distance highway driving common in the region. The Silver exterior is a highly practical choice for the local climate, efficiently reflecting heat and consistently ranking as one of the strongest colors for resale value. As a GCC-spec model, it features the cooling and filtration systems necessary to handle extreme summer temperatures without compromise. For buyers seeking a durable, fuel-efficient sedan that retains its value, this Accord remains the segment benchmark.

This Car vs Other 2022 Accords

At 68,000 km, this vehicle has been driven approximately 22,000 km per year, which is perfectly aligned with the GCC average for midsize sedans. While many Accords in the market are imported American specs, this genuine GCC-spec unit ensures full compatibility with local service centers and a higher long-term valuation. The Silver finish is a strategic advantage for regional buyers, as it hides dust well and is highly sought after in the pre-owned market.

LX vs Lower Trims

As the foundational trim for the 2022 lineup, the LX comes surprisingly well-equipped with the full Honda Sensing safety suite and dual-zone automatic climate control—essential for managing the UAE's variable heat. Unlike basic fleet-spec variants found in other regions, this GCC LX includes the 8-inch high-resolution touchscreen and full smartphone integration. It offers the same core mechanical reliability and cabin space as higher trims without the added maintenance complexity of a sunroof or larger, more expensive 19-inch tires.

Accord vs Segment Rivals

The Accord leads the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima in cargo versatility, offering a massive 570-litre boot that easily accommodates family travel or large shopping trips. Its 1.5L turbocharged engine provides a more responsive torque curve for highway overtaking than the Camry's naturally aspirated base engine. Additionally, the Accord's interior layout provides segment-leading rear legroom, making it the preferred choice for those who prioritize passenger comfort during cross-emirate drives.

Running Costs & Resale

With an official combined fuel economy of 6.1 L/100km, the Accord is exceptionally affordable to run even in heavy stop-start city traffic in Dubai or Riyadh. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, supported by one of the most robust authorized dealer networks across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman, ensuring parts are always readily available. Historically, the Accord maintains one of the highest 3-year residual values in the GCC, typically losing only 8-10% annually compared to 15% for many European rivals.

Performance & Capability

The 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine delivers 198 hp, providing a smooth and efficient power delivery through the CVT transmission that is specifically tuned for GCC highway speeds. It manages the 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 8.0 seconds, offering plenty of punch for merging into fast-moving traffic. The chassis is refined for long-distance comfort, maintaining stability and a quiet cabin even during the high-speed transit common between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Comfort & Cabin

Inside, the Accord offers a wide, airy cabin designed to keep five adults comfortable during the peak of summer, thanks to a powerful A/C system and dedicated rear passenger vents. The 8-inch touchscreen is positioned intuitively to reduce driver distraction, while the acoustic windshield helps isolate the cabin from road and wind noise at cruising speeds. Storage is abundant, featuring a deep center console and high-quality cloth seating that remains cool even after hours in the sun.

Safety

Safety is a primary strength of the 2022 Accord, which comes standard with the Honda Sensing suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Collision Mitigation Braking. These systems are particularly valuable on long desert highways, helping to reduce driver fatigue and provide an extra layer of protection. The vehicle also features a multi-angle rearview camera and multiple airbags, contributing to its consistent 5-star safety ratings.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec Accord is a smart acquisition for a buyer who values fuel efficiency and strong resale potential in a well-maintained, modern sedan.
