Summary

This 2022 Infiniti QX80 in the range-topping LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE trim represents one of the most complete luxury SUV packages available in the GCC today. With mileage that aligns perfectly with regional driving habits for a three-year-old vehicle, it offers a significant saving over new while retaining the modern technology and updated interior introduced in the 2022 refresh. The striking Blue exterior provides a refreshing alternative to the sea of white and silver on UAE roads, yet maintains strong resale appeal due to its premium metallic finish. Choosing the GCC spec ensures you have the heavy-duty cooling systems and full regional warranty support necessary for local conditions. This model stands out for its blend of genuine body-on-frame durability and a whisper-quiet cabin that rivals European luxury brands. For a buyer seeking a dependable family hauler that can transition from school runs to desert weekends without compromise, this QX80 is a standout opportunity.

This Car vs Other 2022 QX80s

When comparing this vehicle to other 2022 models in the market, the primary advantage is its balance of age and usage. The mileage sits at approximately 30,000 km per year, which is typical for a full-sized SUV in the GCC where long-distance commutes between Emirates are the norm. Unlike many listings that may be base trims or North American imports, this is a genuine GCC spec LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE, meaning it was built specifically for the heat and terrain of the Middle East. The Blue paintwork is in excellent condition and offers a more executive, unique presence compared to the standard fleet colors often found on used car lots. Because this is the 2022 model year, it features the significantly upgraded 12.3-inch widescreen infotainment system, making it much more modern than 2021 or earlier versions. This specific unit has been maintained within the region's service environment, ensuring the engine and transmission are optimized for local fuel grades and high ambient temperatures.

LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE trim transforms the QX80 from a capable SUV into a true luxury lounge. While lower trims provide the basics, this top-tier specification adds the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system, which significantly reduces body roll during cornering—a vital feature for a vehicle of this size on winding UAE roads. Inside, you are treated to semi-aniline quilted leather seating that offers a much higher tactile quality than the standard leather found in the Luxe trim. The inclusion of ventilated front seats is a non-negotiable luxury for the GCC summer, ensuring comfort even when temperatures exceed 45 degrees. You also benefit from the advanced Climate Upper Control System, which helps distribute air more effectively throughout the massive three-row cabin. This trim also standardizes the 17-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system and the Smart Rear View Mirror, which uses a camera to provide a clear view even when the 8-seat cabin is fully loaded with passengers.

QX80 vs Segment Rivals

The Infiniti QX80 competes in a prestigious category alongside the Lexus LX, Nissan Patrol, and Cadillac Escalade. Where the QX80 takes the lead is in its value-to-luxury proposition; it offers the mechanical ruggedness of the Nissan Patrol but with a significantly more refined interior and a more exclusive brand image. Compared to the Lexus LX, the QX80 provides a more generous third-row space and a more usable 8-seat configuration, making it the better choice for large families. Its 5.6-litre V8 is a naturally aspirated masterpiece that many GCC buyers prefer over the smaller turbocharged V6 engines found in newer rivals, primarily for its linear power delivery and proven long-term reliability. Additionally, the QX80 features a massive fuel tank designed for cross-country journeys across the Saudi or Omani borders, offering a range that many European competitors cannot match. The cabin insulation is specifically engineered to keep out the drone of wind and road noise during high-speed highway cruising, a common scenario on the E11 and other major regional arteries.

Running Costs & Resale

Operating a QX80 in the GCC is a predictable experience thanks to its shared mechanical DNA with the Nissan Patrol, ensuring that parts and expert technicians are available in every corner of the region, from Dubai to Muscat. The 5.6-litre V8 is designed to run efficiently on local fuel grades, with real-world consumption averaging around 12 to 14 litres per 100 km on the highway, though city driving in stop-start traffic will see that figure rise. Service intervals are typically every 10,000 km, and the authorized service network for Infiniti is one of the strongest in the Middle East. From a resale perspective, the QX80 is a high-performer; it historically depreciates at a slower rate than its European counterparts, losing roughly 10-12% of its value annually compared to the 15-18% seen in other luxury brands. This 2022 model is currently in the 'sweet spot' of its depreciation curve, where the initial steep drop has already occurred, protecting the next owner's investment. Being a GCC spec car, it will always command a premium and a faster sale time on the used market compared to 'grey market' imports.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this QX80 is the legendary 5.6-litre V8 engine, producing a robust 400 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. This power is essential for effortless overtaking on fast-moving highways and provides a towing capacity of up to 3,850 kg, perfect for hauling boats or trailers to the coast. The Four-Wheel Drive system is not just for show; it includes a dedicated low-range transfer case (4-Low), making it a genuine off-road contender capable of handling soft sand dunes and rocky wadis with ease. Despite its size, the Hydraulic Body Motion Control system keeps the vehicle planted, providing a car-like handling feel that is rare in the full-size SUV segment. The 0-100 km/h sprint is achieved in roughly 7.5 seconds, which is impressive for a vehicle of this mass. With a high ground clearance of 234 mm, you can confidently navigate varied terrain or high curbs without fear of underbody damage. Whether you are cruising at 140 km/h on the highway to Abu Dhabi or exploring the outskirts of Riyadh, the QX80 feels unstoppable and remarkably stable.

Comfort & Cabin

The interior of the 2022 LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE trim is a masterclass in regional comfort requirements. It features an 8-seat layout that doesn't compromise on legroom, even in the third row, making it a true family vehicle. The tri-zone automatic climate control is exceptionally powerful, designed to pull down cabin temperatures rapidly after the car has been parked in the direct sun. High-quality materials like Charcoal Burl wood and semi-aniline leather create an atmosphere of traditional luxury, while the dual-screen setup has been replaced in this model year by a single, intuitive 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay. For rear passengers, the quietness of the cabin is a standout feature, achieved through acoustic glass and extensive sound deadening that filters out the harshness of the external environment. The Bose 17-speaker system provides an immersive audio experience, turning long road trips into a private concert. Every seat is designed for long-distance support, ensuring you arrive at your destination refreshed rather than fatigued.

Safety

Safety in the QX80 is handled by the comprehensive ProACTIVE suite of driver-assist technologies. This includes Intelligent Cruise Control, which is a lifesaver on long desert stretches, maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead automatically. Blind Spot Intervention and Lane Departure Prevention are particularly useful on the UAE’s multi-lane highways, providing active steering input to keep you out of harm's way. The vehicle also features Predictive Forward Collision Warning, which can sense the speed and distance of not just the car in front of you, but the one in front of that as well. For parking in tight mall spaces or urban environments, the 360-degree Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection provides a bird's-eye view, making the large SUV easy to maneuver. The QX80 is built with a reinforced zone body construction and a full suite of airbags, ensuring maximum protection for all eight occupants. These systems work together seamlessly to provide a layer of security that is often optional on competitors but standard on this high-trim Infiniti.

The bottom line

This 2022 Infiniti QX80 is the perfect choice for an executive or a large family who demands the reliability of a Japanese powertrain combined with a high-end interior. As a GCC-spec LUXE SENSORY PROACTIVE with the 2022 tech refresh, it offers the best possible configuration for the local market and represents a smart, high-value purchase.
