Summary

This 2022 Kia Seltos is a highly practical choice for the UAE market, offering a balanced mix of modern styling and urban efficiency. While the mileage reflects active use consistent with GCC highway commuting, the Seltos remains a top-tier contender in the subcompact segment for its impressive cargo capacity and ease of maintenance. The Grey exterior is a neutral, high-demand choice that supports strong resale value across the region. With its fuel-efficient 1.4L engine, it is perfectly suited for daily drives between Emirates or navigating busy city traffic in Dubai and Riyadh. As a widely supported brand, parts availability and expert servicing are guaranteed across all major GCC cities.

This Car vs Other 2022 Seltoss

The mileage on this vehicle is slightly above the typical GCC annual average of 25,000 km, suggesting it has been used primarily for long-distance highway travel. In the local market, these highway kilometers are often considered better for the powertrain than stop-start city driving. The Grey exterior is a versatile and popular choice in the UAE, ensuring better liquidity and value retention compared to less conventional colors.

DELUX vs Lower Trims

The Delux trim elevates the Seltos experience by adding premium touches that GCC buyers value, such as enhanced cabin materials and a more comprehensive infotainment interface. While lower trims focus on basic utility, this version provides the necessary tech and comfort features to handle the region's summer heat and long commutes with ease. It strikes a professional balance between everyday practicality and a refined interior feel.

Seltos vs Segment Rivals

Compared to rivals like the Nissan Kicks and Hyundai Kona, the Seltos leads with one of the most generous boot volumes in its class at 433 litres, making it superior for family errands or weekend trips. Its square proportions also provide better rear headroom than the more sloped designs of its competitors. Additionally, Kia’s rapid expansion in the GCC means its service network is now one of the most robust, often surpassing European rivals in parts accessibility.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption for the 1.4L engine averages between 6.5 and 7.5 L/100km on GCC highways, making it a very economical choice for cross-country drives. Authorized service centers are widely available through Al Majid Motors in the UAE and similar established distributors across Saudi Arabia and Oman. The Seltos enjoys a low annual depreciation rate of approximately 10-12%, holding its value significantly better than European subcompact crossovers in the local market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.4L turbocharged engine produces a capable 140 horsepower, providing smooth acceleration that is essential for merging onto fast-moving UAE highways like Sheikh Zayed Road. The Front Wheel Drive configuration is optimized for fuel efficiency and urban agility, keeping the vehicle light and responsive in city traffic. While designed as a road-biased crossover, its generous ground clearance allows it to handle gravel paths and speed bumps with more confidence than a standard sedan.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is designed for maximum thermal comfort, featuring a powerful air conditioning system specifically calibrated for high-temperature markets. Rear passengers benefit from dedicated cooling vents, a must-have for the GCC summer, ensuring everyone stays comfortable during long drives. The 60/40 split-folding rear seats allow for a nearly flat load floor, expanding the already impressive cargo area for larger items.

Safety

Safety is comprehensive on this trim, featuring a suite of airbags and electronic stability control to manage varied road surfaces. The Seltos includes essential assistance features like a rearview camera and parking sensors, which are highly useful in tight urban parking environments. Its reinforced body structure and standard ABS provide peace of mind for high-speed highway travel across the Emirates.

The bottom line

For the practical buyer seeking a reliable, fuel-efficient, and spacious crossover with the best service support in the region, this Seltos is a standout opportunity.
