Summary

This 2023 Kia Seltos LX is a smart choice for urban commuters and small families, offering a modern crossover experience with practical dimensions. At 3 years old and with 53,000 km, its mileage sits comfortably within the expected average for the GCC market, suggesting it has been used as a reliable daily driver. The Grey exterior is a highly practical and resale-friendly choice for the region, masking dust well and maintaining long-term appeal. As a GCC-spec vehicle, it provides peace of mind with a cooling system and interior components built specifically for high-temperature durability. For buyers seeking a stylish, efficient crossover with a strong local service presence, this listing represents a stable and low-risk entry into the SUV segment.

This Car vs Other 2023 Seltos

With 53,000 km on the odometer, this Seltos is aligned with typical GCC annual usage of roughly 18,000–20,000 km per year. The Grey finish is one of the more resilient colors for the local climate, ensuring better paint longevity and higher demand in the used market compared to brighter shades. Being a GCC-spec model, it bypasses the warranty and parts compatibility issues often found with imported North American units.

LX vs Lower Trims

The LX serves as the foundation of the Seltos lineup, providing the essential tech GCC buyers look for, such as an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. It also features 17-inch alloy wheels and an acoustic windshield as standard, which helps reduce road noise during high-speed highway commutes between Emirates. Unlike base trims in other markets, the GCC LX includes essential rear cooling vents to maintain passenger comfort during summer.

Seltos vs Segment Rivals

The Seltos competes directly with the Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks, leading the segment with a more generous 433-litre boot capacity and superior rear legroom for its class. Its 1.6-litre engine is known for its mechanical simplicity and parts commonality across the region, making it easier to maintain than turbocharged competitors. The ride height and 190 mm ground clearance provide a clear advantage for navigating speed breakers and gravel patches common in newer residential developments.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel economy for the 1.6-litre powertrain typically averages between 7.5 and 8.0 L/100km, offering excellent range for long-distance driving across the GCC. Kia’s vast authorized service network across the UAE and Saudi Arabia ensures that maintenance is affordable and parts are readily available off-the-shelf. The Seltos has demonstrated strong value retention, typically depreciating less than European rivals in the same price bracket after the three-year mark.

Performance & Capability

The 123 hp 1.6-litre engine is paired with a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, tuned for fuel efficiency and predictable power delivery in stop-start city traffic. While designed as an on-road crossover, its 190 mm ground clearance and short overhangs allow it to handle light gravel paths and unpaved weekend escapes with confidence. The Front Wheel Drive setup ensures lower curb weight and better fuel economy for those who prioritize daily city commuting over off-road exploration.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is surprisingly spacious for a subcompact SUV, featuring 60/40 split-folding rear seats that expand cargo capacity to over 1,700 litres when needed. The air conditioning system is specifically engineered for the GCC, quickly cooling the cabin even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Durable woven cloth seating and high-quality interior plastics are selected to withstand the rigors of family use and intense local heat.

Safety

Safety is managed by a robust suite including multiple airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) to prevent rollback on inclined exits. The inclusion of Rear Parking Sensors and a Rear-View Monitor makes it exceptionally easy to park in tight urban spots in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Its reinforced high-strength steel chassis provides a solid safety cell, a factor that helped the model achieve high safety ratings in international testing.

The bottom line

For a GCC buyer looking for a modern, reliable, and fuel-efficient SUV that holds its value, this 2023 Seltos LX is the ideal balance of practicality and local market strength.
