Summary

This 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 53 represents a sharp opportunity to own a high-performance executive coupe with exceptionally low mileage for its age. While the model is celebrated for its sleek silhouette and daily-driver refinement, the '53' trim sits in the sweet spot of the lineup, offering more power and standard equipment than the base 43 without the extreme fuel costs of the V8. The grey exterior is a highly resilient resale choice in the GCC, and the 25,000 km odometer is well below the regional average for a two-year-old car. As a Canadian-spec import, it provides a feature-rich alternative to local units, though buyers should note the specific considerations for non-GCC cooling systems. It bridges the gap between a track-ready sports car and a high-end luxury sedan perfectly for UAE highway life.

This Car vs Other 2022 AMG GTs

With just 25,000 km on the clock, this GT 53 has been driven roughly half as much as the typical 2022 model in the UAE, where annual highway use often reaches 25,000 km per year. The grey finish is a practical and high-demand color in the Gulf, ensuring it stays cooler under the sun and maintains strong value in the pre-owned market. Compared to higher-mileage GCC-spec examples, this unit offers a 'near-new' mechanical condition that is rare to find.

53 vs Lower Trims

The GT 53 adds a significant performance edge over the GT 43, utilizing an electric auxiliary compressor to eliminate turbo lag and boosting output to 435 hp. Beyond the power, this trim typically includes upgraded AMG Ride Control+ air suspension as standard, which is vital for maintaining comfort on the varying road surfaces found across the Emirates. It also frequently carries higher-tier interior finishes and the more aggressive V8-style exterior styling cues that GCC buyers prefer.

AMG GT vs Segment Rivals

The AMG GT 53 competes directly with the Porsche Panamera 4S and the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe. It leads the segment with its unique '4-Door Coupe' styling that offers more presence and a larger boot than the BMW, while providing a more tech-forward MBUX cockpit experience than the Porsche. Its hybrid-assisted inline-six offers a smoother start-stop experience in heavy Dubai traffic compared to its non-hybrid rivals.

Running Costs & Resale

The mild-hybrid EQ Boost system helps the GT 53 achieve a combined fuel consumption of approximately 9.4L/100km, which is impressive for a 400+ hp vehicle. While Canadian-spec cars may see a slightly higher depreciation rate of roughly 15-18% annually in the GCC compared to local spec, the low mileage significantly offsets this. Service centers are abundant across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, though buyers should ensure the A/C and cooling systems are maintained for the 45°C+ summer peaks.

Performance & Capability

A top speed of 285 km/h and a 4.5-second sprint to 100 km/h make this an elite performer on the E11 highway. The 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system provides variable torque distribution, ensuring maximum grip during the rare but slippery rain showers in the region. The 9-speed TCT transmission is tuned for rapid downshifts, providing immediate power for overtaking at high speeds.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a 4-seat masterpiece featuring the dual 12.3-inch widescreen cockpit and a high-grade Burmester audio system. Designed for long-distance grand touring, the seats offer excellent support for the drive between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The 2022 refresh includes the updated AMG Performance steering wheel with integrated drive-mode dials, allowing for instant chassis adjustment without taking your eyes off the road.

Safety

Safety is paramount with a full ADAS suite including Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and the Pre-Safe system which prepares the cabin for an imminent collision. The 360-degree camera system is essential for navigating tight parking spots in major malls, while the adaptive cruise control makes the long desert stretches of the E611 significantly less fatiguing.

The bottom line

This is the ideal choice for an executive seeking the prestige of an AMG with the practicality of a four-door, offering a high-spec, low-mileage opportunity that stands out in the current market.
