Summary

This 2022 G63 AMG offers the ultimate blend of iconic presence and performance, featuring a mileage of 110,000 km that is consistent with typical GCC highway use for a four-year-old vehicle. Finished in Obsidian Black, it carries the most desirable resale color in the region, ensuring it remains a liquid asset in the pre-owned market. As a GCC-spec model, it is fully optimized for local conditions with a heavy-duty cooling system and regional navigation. It stands out from rivals like the Range Rover SVR by offering genuine off-road hardware alongside supercar-rivaling acceleration. For the GCC buyer, this represents an opportunity to own the region's most recognized status symbol with a proven regional pedigree.

This Car vs Other 2022 G63 AMGs

With 110,000 km over four years, this G63 has averaged approximately 27,500 km per year, which is slightly above the global average but aligns with typical long-distance commuting patterns between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The Obsidian Black exterior is the top-performing color for resale in the UAE and Saudi markets, significantly outperforming brighter or matte finishes. Its GCC specification is a critical advantage, ensuring the air conditioning and engine cooling are built to withstand 50°C summer peaks.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

Stepping up to the G63 from the G500 adds the hand-assembled AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine, delivering an extra 169 hp and a significantly more aggressive exhaust note. This trim includes the 360° camera system and AMG-specific adaptive suspension as standard, features that are essential for navigating tight urban parking and maintaining high-speed stability on the E11. You also receive the upgraded Nappa leather interior and the IWC-design analog clock, which are hallmark requirements for luxury buyers in this segment.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

The G63 AMG remains unique in its segment by utilizing a traditional body-on-frame construction with three mechanical locking differentials, offering off-road durability that monocoque rivals like the Lamborghini Urus cannot match. It features a massive 100-liter fuel tank, providing superior range for cross-border GCC drives compared to the smaller tanks found in the BMW X7 M60i. Its upright design provides significantly better headroom and a more commanding driving position than the sloping profiles of performance-focused SUV coupes.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 16–18 L/100km in GCC city traffic, improving on long highway stretches. Service intervals are strictly every 10,000 km or 12 months, and with a robust network of authorized Mercedes-Benz centers across the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait, maintenance is straightforward. The G63 enjoys some of the highest value retention in the luxury SUV market, typically depreciating far slower than its European competitors due to its evergreen design and high local demand.

Performance & Capability

The heart of this vehicle is its 585 hp V8, which propels this 2.5-ton SUV to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. It features 241 mm of ground clearance and a 700 mm wading depth, making it as capable in the dunes as it is on the asphalt. The AMG Dynamic Select system allows you to stiffen the suspension for high-speed highway runs or engage 'Sand' mode for weekend desert excursions. It also boasts a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, ideal for hauling jet skis or horse trailers.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is a sanctuary of luxury, featuring the Widescreen Cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays and a premium Burmester surround-sound system. In the GCC heat, the high-output tri-zone climate control and ventilated front seats are indispensable, ensuring rapid cabin cooling even after being parked in direct sun. The interior is finished in premium leather with 64-color ambient lighting, creating a sophisticated environment for both driver and passengers during long-distance road trips.

Safety

Standard safety equipment includes the full Pre-Safe suite, Active Brake Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist, which are particularly useful for maintaining safety on fast-moving multi-lane highways. Blind Spot Assist and the 360° camera provide essential visibility for a vehicle of this size in busy city traffic. It also features a comprehensive 9-airbag system and adaptive cruise control, providing peace of mind during long desert highway transits.

The bottom line

This GCC-spec G63 AMG is the perfect match for a buyer seeking the ultimate regional icon with a verified service pedigree and the best possible resale configuration.
