Highlights

• Hand-built engine
• 0–100 km/h in 5.4 seconds
• Low-range transfer case with locking differentials

Summary

This 2022 G63 AMG offers a distinctive opportunity for enthusiasts who prefer the mechanical character and aggressive soundtrack of the 5.5-litre V8 powertrain. With mileage significantly below the UAE annual average, this unit has been preserved as a low-use example of the world’s most recognizable luxury 4x4. The Grey exterior is a high-demand, heat-efficient choice that maintains strong resale appeal across the GCC market. While this model retains the legendary boxy silhouette, it delivers modern interior refinement that few dedicated off-roaders can match. For the UAE buyer, it represents the perfect balance of a collector-grade powertrain and daily-driver usability.

This Car vs Other 2022 G63 AMGs

With only 17,700 km on the odometer, this G63 sits well below the typical 40,000–50,000 km expected for a vehicle of this age in the GCC. While many 2022 models have been used for cross-emirate commuting, this European-spec example shows evidence of much lighter service. The Grey finish is a smart choice for the region, offering better heat rejection than black while holding value better than niche custom shades.

STANDARD vs Lower Trims

As the AMG flagship, this trim upgrades the standard G-Class with high-performance hardware including red-painted brake calipers and the iconic side-exit exhaust system. Inside, it features a higher grade of Nappa leather and the IWC-design analogue clock, alongside the essential 360-degree camera system that makes navigating tight urban parking in Dubai or Riyadh much safer. It also includes the AMG Ride Control adaptive damping, which is vital for maintaining comfort on the highway.

G63 AMG vs Segment Rivals

Compared to the Range Rover Autobiography or the Lamborghini Urus, the G63 offers unmatched mechanical durability thanks to its body-on-frame construction and three independent locking differentials. While the Urus focuses on track-style agility, the G-Wagon leads the segment in off-road geometry and wading depth, making it the preferred choice for weekend desert excursions. Its upright greenhouse also provides superior visibility in fast-moving highway traffic compared to low-slung performance SUVs.

Running Costs & Resale

Real-world fuel consumption typically averages around 15–18 L/100km depending on how much time is spent in stop-start city traffic versus open highway cruising. As a European-spec vehicle, it is important to note that while parts are identical to GCC models, buyers should verify service history compatibility with local authorized dealers. The G63 remains one of the slowest-depreciating luxury vehicles in the UAE, often retaining significantly more value at the three-year mark than its European rivals.

Performance & Capability

The hand-built V8 produces 530 hp, launching this 2.5-ton icon to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. Its specialized 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system is paired with a low-range transfer case, providing the low-end torque necessary for technical sand driving. On the highway, the electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h is reached with surprising composure, supported by a heavy-duty cooling system designed to manage high-output runs in the summer heat.

Comfort & Cabin

The five-seat cabin is insulated with acoustic glass to keep the GCC summer heat and road noise at bay, while the powerful multi-zone climate control ensures rapid cooling even after the car has been parked in the sun. Ventilated front seats provide essential comfort for long midday drives between Emirates. The dual 12.3-inch displays provide a modern digital cockpit experience, blending seamlessly with the rugged, upright dashboard design.

Safety

Standard safety tech on this trim includes Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist, which are particularly valuable on the UAE's high-speed multi-lane motorways. The G63 also features a reinforced body structure and a comprehensive airbag suite. The 360-degree camera system and Pre-Safe predictive occupant protection system provide additional peace of mind during both city driving and off-road maneuvers.

The bottom line

For the buyer seeking a low-mileage G-Wagon with the sought-after 5.5L V8 character, this European-spec unit is a standout choice in a market full of high-kilometer examples.
