Summary

This 2022 Mitsubishi Attrage GLX is a standout for efficiency in the GCC market, offering a high-mileage profile that perfectly matches its reputation as a durable urban workhorse. Finished in Grey, a practical color that handles the region's dust and sun exceptionally well, it remains a top choice for resale value in the Emirates. In a segment often dominated by fleet-grade rentals, this GLX trim offers a more refined daily experience with better interior materials and essential tech. For a GCC buyer, the most important factor here is the ultra-low running cost paired with Mitsubishi's proven air conditioning systems that thrive in peak summer heat. It is a no-nonsense, reliable commuter designed for high-frequency city and highway use.

This Car vs Other 2022 Attrages

At 80,000 km, this Attrage sits exactly within the average annual usage bracket for the GCC, where 20,000–25,000 km per year is standard due to long-distance highway commutes. While many used units in the market have been utilized for heavy commercial or rental service, this example maintains the clean interior typical of private ownership. The Grey exterior is one of the strongest resale colors in the region, prized for its ability to look clean despite desert dust.

GLX vs Lower Trims

The GLX trim is a significant step up from the base fleet models, adding essential features like power-adjustable mirrors, keyless entry, and an upgraded audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. Unlike the entry-level versions that often lack basic conveniences, the GLX provides a more comfortable cabin with better fabric upholstery and body-colored exterior accents. This trim is specifically sought after in the used market because it balances affordability with the creature comforts needed for the long GCC summer.

Attrage vs Segment Rivals

When compared to rivals like the Suzuki Dzire or Nissan Sunny, the Attrage leads with its class-leading fuel economy and tighter 4.8-meter turning circle, making it the easiest car in its segment to park in crowded areas like Deira or Bur Dubai. While others may offer more horsepower, the Attrage's lightweight body and CVT are tuned specifically for maximum efficiency. Its 450-liter trunk is surprisingly large for a subcompact, often outperforming the cargo capacity of cars in the class above.

Running Costs & Resale

Running costs are among the lowest in the UAE, with a real-world combined consumption of approximately 4.8 L/100km. Mitsubishi’s authorized service network is one of the most extensive across the GCC, ensuring parts and expert maintenance are available from Abu Dhabi to Muscat. Historically, the Attrage holds its value well, typically retaining 65–70% of its price over three years, thanks to its high demand as a reliable secondary family car or efficient commuter.

Performance & Capability

Powered by a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine, the Attrage is built for efficiency rather than raw speed, achieving a top speed of 170 km/h. The INVECS-III CVT transmission is designed for smoothness in stop-start traffic, a common sight on the E11 or during Riyadh rush hours. It handles the open highway with stability and provides a light, easy driving experience that reduces fatigue during long cross-emirate trips. Its cooling system is specifically rated for high-ambient temperatures, ensuring the engine stays at peak performance during the 45°C+ summer months.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is surprisingly spacious for a subcompact sedan, offering a 5-seat layout with generous headroom. The air conditioning is a primary highlight, known in the GCC for its ability to chill the cabin rapidly even after the car has been parked in direct sunlight. Features like power windows, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, and a dedicated 12V socket for device charging make it a practical workspace for the daily driver. Acoustic insulation is decent for the class, keeping the engine hum out of the cabin during city speeds.

Safety

The 2022 Attrage comes equipped with a solid safety suite including Anti-lock Braking (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to maintain control during sudden stops on sandy or slick surfaces. It features driver-side SRS airbags and a reinforced RISE body structure designed to absorb impact energy. Active Stability Control (ASC) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) are standard on this trim, providing essential peace of mind for high-speed highway driving between cities.

The bottom line

For the budget-conscious GCC commuter, this Attrage GLX is an unbeatable value proposition, offering Japanese reliability and the lowest possible fuel bills in a clean, high-resale package.
