Mitsubishi Attrage SIGNATURE EDITION

Highlights

• 4.8 L/100km combined (DriveArabia)
• 450 litres boot space
• Extensive GCC authorised service network

Summary

This 2022 Mitsubishi Attrage is an exceptional find for the pragmatic GCC commuter, showing just 2,000 km on the odometer—effectively a new car at a used price point. The Signature Edition trim adds a level of visual flair and interior refinement rarely seen in this segment, featuring a factory body kit and upgraded cabin materials. In a market where fuel prices are rising, its triple-cylinder MIVEC engine delivers class-leading efficiency for the daily Dubai-Sharjah or Abu Dhabi commute. Its grey exterior is arguably the best choice for the region, masking desert dust far more effectively than white or black while maintaining strong resale appeal. Mitsubishi’s massive service footprint across the UAE and wider GCC ensures that ownership remains stress-free for years to come.

This Car vs Other 2022 Attrages

With only 2,000 km recorded, this vehicle sits in the lowest 1% of mileage for its model year in the GCC market, where the annual average typically hits 25,000 km. While most 2022 examples are now entering their first major service cycle, this unit remains in showroom condition. The Titanium Grey finish is a high-demand neutral that offers a significant resale advantage over brighter or darker tones in the local secondary market.

SIGNATURE EDITION vs Lower Trims

The Signature Edition is the range-topping aesthetic variant, distinguishing itself from the standard GLX with an aerodynamic factory body kit and blacked-out front grille accents. Inside, it replaces basic plastics with piano-black trim and adds a 7-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto—essential for navigating GCC highways. It also benefits from upgraded 15-inch alloy wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, providing a more premium feel than the fleet-spec base trims.

Attrage vs Segment Rivals

When compared to the Kia Pegas and Toyota Yaris, the Attrage leads the segment in outright fuel economy and urban maneuverability. While rivals may offer larger 1.4L or 1.5L engines, the Attrage is lighter, making it more agile in tight city parking and stop-start traffic. It also offers a generous 450-litre boot, which surprisingly outperforms several larger sedans in its class, making it a viable small-family workhorse.

Running Costs & Resale

The Attrage is famous in the GCC for its 'pocket-friendly' ownership, achieving a manufacturer-official 4.8 L/100km that translates to incredible range from its 42-litre tank. Maintenance is affordable thanks to a vast network of Al Habtoor and other regional authorized centers, with service intervals typically set at 10,000 km. Historically, Japanese-spec GCC sedans like this retain roughly 65-70% of their value after three years, significantly outperforming American-spec imports in the UAE market.

Performance & Capability

The 1.2-litre MIVEC engine produces 78 hp, optimized for efficiency rather than raw speed, reaching a top speed of 170 km/h. Its INVECS-III CVT transmission is specifically tuned for smooth acceleration in city traffic, ensuring the engine remains in its most efficient power band. With a tight turning circle and lightweight chassis, it handles the daily grind of urban commuting with ease while remaining stable enough for cross-emirate highway trips.

Comfort & Cabin

The cabin is surprisingly spacious, utilizing Mitsubishi's 'People-First' design to provide generous rear legroom that rivals the segment above. The air conditioning system is engineered for the 45°C+ GCC summers, featuring powerful blowers that cool the cabin rapidly. Added conveniences in this Signature Edition include steering wheel-mounted controls and a high-contrast instrument cluster that stays legible even in direct desert sunlight.

Safety

Safety is managed by Mitsubishi's RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body construction, designed to dissipate energy in a collision. This trim comes standard with dual front SRS airbags, Active Stability Control (ASC), and Hill Start Assist (HSA)—crucial for the inclined ramps of Dubai's multi-story parking garages. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) ensure stable stopping power on the fast-moving highways of the Emirates.

The bottom line

This is the ideal opportunity for a first-time buyer or a budget-conscious professional to secure a near-new, top-trim Japanese sedan with negligible mileage and maximum GCC resale potential.
